Sister Jackson's Super Post for Week One:
1. It is difficult to know what to write about first when I have so much to be thankful for. I guess I'll express my deep appreciation for being able to write. I love words and communicating with others, and life would not be the same for me if I could not write. Today I am especially thankful that I'm able to share my gratitude over this coming month with you.
2. Taking time out to watch movies with the people I love is one of my favorite things. Whenever we can, my children and I love to flop down on our giant bean bags in the basement and watch movies as a family. When I get together with my lady friends for a girls night out, we go to the movies. When I go to visit family out of state, we try to squeeze in a movie. I have one particular friend that I watch movies with long distance, calling it a watch-along, and it's a cherished time just for us. One thing I don't like much is going to the movies on dates with people I barely know. Nevertheless, watching movies makes me happy, and I am thankful to have access to such a luxury.
3. I'm grateful for fresh water. That might sound basic to you, but I mean it. Every once in awhile I catch myself taking it for granted; however, as soon as I notice, I correct myself. Not everyone around the world has access to such plentiful and clean water. It is something I hope I never forget to have gratitude for.
4. Being able to care for my family as well as I do fills me with gratitude and humility. I have strength of mind and body (well, that first part is debatable.); I have a job that I love, which makes it possible for me to provide for their needs as well as mine; and there are innumerable people who give us support in many ways in which I cannot help us. Because of others helping me, I am able to do more than is humanly possible.
5. I am thankful for music. I enjoy songs from almost every genre created. It began with show tunes in movie musicals and classical music, expanding my horizons to oldies, country/western, and then in the 80s, it exploded from there. My love of music has yet to cool.
6. My home is a place of comfort for me. I grew up in the same house since I was two years old, and it's still owned by my family, so settling in somewhere of my own has felt right. Although, over the past year, I have realized that home is where the heart is, so I don't feel so attached to the actual location but more of the idea of home. Having a place to share with my loved ones, to spend time and to feel safe and cherished with them, grants peace in my crazy world. My heart is full at these thoughts.
7. I'm truly thankful for flowers. I love fragrant flowers, beautiful flowers, spring tulips and lilacs, summer roses and sunflowers, and all of the more rare autumn blooms. Flowers in my yard, hanging in baskets, or cut in a vase, there's something about flowers that I love.

I love number 1! Animals are amazing! (Well most of them) I don't really care for snakes or spiders
DeleteAnimals are awesome, SNAKES ARE SO COOL.
DeleteBananas, eh, I'd rather have raspberries or strawberries.
Also an avocado is also a fruit :)
Oh my goodness, 3 made my day!!! Thank you for that Bethany! You made me laugh, and I am eternally grateful! I love laughing. :-)
DeleteAbby F. Period 1
DeleteI really connected with #4!! I love donuts too!
2, GO BANANAS GO GO BANANAS!!!!!!!!!!! Bananas are the most amazing thing in smothies! they make me happy :) I never new bananas were a berrie!
DeleteI LOVE number 5 and number 6!!!n Friendship and earbuds are AWESOME!!!
DeleteDid anyone notice I was going in Alphabetical order?
DeleteGabe Leavitt Period 1
DeleteBethany, I totally agree with #5! I honestly think earbuds or headphones are essential especially if you have a big family or go on trips often. Music and audio books have this ability to help you just relax and take you away from the world.
I like #2 Well I didn't know that bananas were berries they should call them bananaberries. xD. I also like #4 because I love when my seminary teacher gives us doughnuts on Fridays :D
DeleteKyAnne D. 1
DeleteI love number 7! My last bite this week is also about that! Grate thinkers think alike huh? I love being grateful, it's so fun! Loved 6 too, without friends I wouldn't be able to live!
1. Im thankful for birthdays! Today is actually mine. I turn 15, which I know isn't a very big number, but Im still another year older. I'm honestly not even gonna lie about why I love birthdays. I get cake and presents, which is awesome.
ReplyDelete2. Im thankful for food. I know thats something that everyone is thankful for, but I still decided to write it as a gratitude bite. Food is awesome, that is if it tastes good. Whats the point of eating food thats nasty?? Anyway food gives you strength and energy, and if its chocolate it makes you happy.
3. Im thankful for music. Especially when Im alone in my house, cause then I can jam out to music, and do incredibly embarrassing dance moves. My favorite type of music is rock and roll and pop music. Examples of bands I like are Boston and One Republic.
4. Im grateful for my cat. Her name is Alley, and even though she is an old grumpy thing, she can be very sweet. She is really old, in fact she will turn 17 next year. I love her, even though she leaves massive piles of cat hair on my bed, and sometimes decides that she's to lazy to use her litter box.
5. Im grateful for my bed! Because thats where I can sleep, and I think we can all agree that sleep is the best thing in the world, aside from the tv show Supernatural. Its also where I can watch netlfix, and chill, when I don't want to be around people.
6.Im grateful for wifi, because without wifi, my life would suck. Because I think we all know that sometimes watching tv or scrolling through our phones is much easier then going outside, and… actually doing things (gasp) Also its how you can connect with family and friends, through phone calls, Skype, emails, the list goes on and on
7. I don't want to sound rude… but Im so glad thats Im almost done with these gratitude bites for this week. First of all, because I only like writing, when its on a topic that I want to do. Im glad this is almost done because then I can go finish my homework that I have and not get behind!
Thats it for this week! Bye!
Also Im Rachel Morris. period 4. DE student
DeleteHappy Birthday Rachel! :) Good point in #6. I never thought about that. I always think of technology, but without wifi, most of technology would be useless. Good point!
DeleteCaleb Alton, P4, DE
DeleteI agree with you on what you said on your 3rd bite. I too love music, alas, it is the most enjoyable thing that I do. But I myself do not enjoy doing it in front of people, even those who are around me 24/7, because of what I think they will say or think. Music relieves you of current, temporal problems and helps you feel good about yourself through the chords and beautiful melodies that sift through your ears.
Also, Happy Birthday!
I really liked what you said on the third bite because I relate to it in so many ways. I love music as much as you maybe a little more. I can't dance and i mean its sad to watch. Happy birthday Rachel
DeleteGabe Leavitt period 4
DeleteOh my goodness rachel happy (late) birthday!! I totally agree that that is what birthdays are all about. I mean what better combination; presents, parties, and food. Totally unrelated note, my birthday is in like 2 weeks from today and I'm totally pumped.

4. FREE TIME!!!!! Is so relaxing I have done school all day and I’m finally done. There’s so much you can do with free time. And it’s all up to you. Friday 10/30/2015

Sunday 11/1/2015

DeleteYou are an awesome writer
DeleteCaleb Alton. DE. P4
DeleteNumber 7 reminds me of Brother Hollands talk he gave this past conference. He stated that a mothers love is the only love that is the most comparable to the pure love of Christ on this earth. Mothers nurture, sacrifice, and even give their lives so that their child can experience this earthly life as they had. Thank you for reminding me of that.
I like your number 4 and 6 because when I have free time and peace and quiet all together it's the best.
Delete1.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for love and what it gives. How it expresses what we need, and what we understand.
For what God gives to us is what we need to give to others. Love.
2.
I am grateful for this keyboard. It makes it so I won't be bored. It helps me type when I need to write in dire times of need. This keyboard is good to me for don't you see I have written this bite for thee.

They help me when I want to protect met feet. Thats what they are for: to protect me.
4.
I am grateful for the light of god. It helps me see when all is dark. It helps me understand what I need to do when I cannot see. The light of God exists for you and me in dire times of need.
5.
I am grateful that I can see. I can see you, you can see me. These eyes that I have they are for seeing, seeing the wonders and miracles of life. God has given me eyes, I use them everyday. I love my eyes. I am grateful I can see.
6.
I am grateful I have friends. They help me through hard times, times of hardship, times of pain.

7.
I am grateful for my chickens. They give food when I need it, when I'm hungry. They give me chores to do when I am bored or when I'm not. They give me something to be with when no one else will.
they also helped me become an animal lover.
thats all folks
I totally agree with number 2. But some keyboards I don't like. Specifically this one. Keyboards allow me to say this to you.
Delete6, 5, and 3 are my favorites! I totally agree with what you said about friends!
DeleteI have chickens too! I agree with everything you said.
DeleteAbby F. period 1
DeleteI really loved #4! I totally agree with what you said about the light of god!
Number 2 was freaking beautiful, man. True poetry at it's finest. You're freaking Shakespeare in the 21st century.
DeleteI like how you did your super post in poetry form. I really liked number 7 because it reminds me of my Grandpa Hickens' pheasant farm. The nickname for the farm is Hickens' Chickens.
DeleteCaleigh K. P4
DeleteYAHS!! THAT IS MY BRO-BRO REPRESENT!! I love you Hawken and yah I just love you
I agree with number seven. I'm an animal lover as well . Chickens are cool! I love eating them. I have three dogs i love because they are family to me..

DeleteSuper Post Part 1
ReplyDelete1. I am so grateful for my talents! My weaknesses too. They make me who I am.
Without them, I would be in-human. I would have no purpose. No goals to work on, nothing to improve. I would just be in a state of complete nothing. Nothing to do, nothing to become. I love working on my acting and singing talents. Those are a lot of fun! I love to sing with the other people who are in a musical with me. I love interacting with them through the script. I'm SO grateful for my talents! My weaknesses tell me what I need help on, what needs to be focused on more. They keep me busy when I'm trying to improve my talents. I'm truly grateful to my father for the weaknesses and talents that I've been given!
2. I'm grateful for the beautiful maple tree in my front yard. When I get upset or frustrated, I climb up to a certain branch where I dangle my legs, and just listen to the rustle of the leaves. It calms we down, and the feeling of the wind brushing my face is AMAZING! I stay up there for as long as I need, leaning my head against the smooth white bark. Letting my emotions drain out of my system. This tree was planted when I was a little girl, after my great-grandma passed away, so it's always had a special place in my heart. I'm very thankful for that tree, it's been a blessing in my life.
3. I am SO grateful for ballroom! It's something that I've wanted to do for a long while, and I've started taking lessons this year! So far I've learned the Mambo, and the Cha-Cha, and now we're learning Waltz! I love dancing with a partner, twirling and spinning, and doing all sorts of different steps. It takes teamwork! We help each other through the steps, and if one of us messes up, we help each other out. No hard feelings! The guy leads, and the girl follows... but sometimes I forget that rule. :-)
4. I am thankful for my parents! My mom helps me understand what I need to strive to do as a future mother. I've been helping to make dinner A LOT MORE lately, and I have more responsibilities. She also helps me when I am hurt, or need support and suggestions. She helps we when I'm struggling with relationships, and does more for me than I could ever write down. My dad is my dance partner, my voice instructor, my comforter, and my protector. We've been dancing together since I was just a little toddler! He's SO much fun to dance with, and I love how he mixes up steps and just loves being with me. Ever since I was tiny, he's helped to let me know if I'm singing flat or sharp. He helps me to learn how to be in the correct form, and when I need to fix my pronunciation. I'm SO grateful for my family!

DeleteI really connected with #4! I love my parents too! they really help me!!!
Wow! #2 is very well written. I can picture the beauty of the moment you are describing.
DeleteCaleb Alton, P4, DE
DeleteNumber 1 gives some wonderful insight. We are given weaknesses for one purpose, to strengthen them.If we were perfect in every way possible, what would we live for but to invite envy and jealousy to others. We are envious of others talents because we are blind to what we can do ourselves. Our own weaknesses can become our unique talents if we spend a life-time trying to develop them.
Thanks guys!

ReplyDelete1) I am grateful for lightbulbs. They literally make my life brighter. When it is morning or night, I have a light that helps me accomplish what I need to get done. I wake up in the morning and flip a switch, then I read my scriptures in the light of my lightbulb.
2) I am grateful for windows. They allow me to see the beauty of the world outside, but at the same time protect me from wind and storm. You can see what is going on, but stay in the perfect temperature of your house. Windows allow the sunlight into my home and make my day better.
3) I am thankful for my email. IT helps me stay connected with friends. It allows me to communicate easily with my missionary siblings. It helps me to know what is going on in my life. It gives me reminders of what I need to do.
4) I am grateful for trees. They keep me alive by providing oxygen for me to breath. They are beautiful objects. The also allow me to climb them. when I am bored, I go into my backyard and climb my cherry tree. it is really fun. I love trees so much that I hug them. (Tree hugger)
5) I am grateful for mice. They help me with my homework. They help me stay in touch with friends. when I am bored, they help me play games. When I have to do something, I sit down, grab the mouse, and do what I need to do on the computer.
6) I am grateful for trashcans. They keep everything clean. With trashcans, I can keep everything I don't need in one place. If I am bored, I can play trashketball. Trashcans keep me organized.
7) I love my family. They make me who I am. They love me. They support me. They help me. They care for me. My parents feed me. My siblings play with me. Families are important in everybody's lives.
Haha, I love 5! That can go more ways then one. XD I also love 4, I can really relate to that!
DeleteCaleb Alton, P4, DE
DeleteWhen you say that you are grateful for windows, I somehow feel it relates to the Brother of Jared. They crafted boats that couldn't contain windows because windows would not have been able to withstand the waters and storms of the outside world. So God gave them light from within, from ordinary rocks that were converted to something much more profound. If life can't supply windows, it can supply gleaming stones touched by the hand of God.
number 5 I think that is so cool that you have been playing since you were three that's a long time it must have been like a little tinny baby violin and the ukulele is cool to I had a ukulele than my sister stole it from me:( you are a really talented person. Hannah Goody DE 11/5/2015
DeleteAll of them are very awesome but the one i like the most is number one. Number one is great because Thomas Edison is one of my favorite inventors in history. I also like number four because Birch trees are my favorite tree.
DeleteI like #4 because I lot of people relate to trees. George Washington did not cut down a cherry tree and Every professor in Pokémon is named after a tree. I also like trees because it helps us breathe and the all many uses of trees.
DeleteSuper Post Part 2:
ReplyDeleteMusic is a big part of my life, and it always has been. I got a violin in my christmas stocking when I was three. I took lessons for a few years, but then I quit. Violin just wasn't for me, I didn't connect. Since then, I've added a lot of instruments into my life: Voice, Piano, Guitar and Ukelele. When I'm not playing/writing music, I love listening to it. Singer/songwriters, Soft rock, pop, and country music. I'm grateful for music that makes me feel loved, music that makes me feel emotions that I wish could be felt all of the time. Music that makes me stand up and start dancing with my imaginary partner. There's a quote I found that says: “Without music, life would be a mistake.” and I wholeheartedly agree!
6. I'm grateful for close friends. Close friends that I can talk about anything with. I only have a few, and I treasure them! They help lift me through hard times, and they listen to what I have to say, even if it's a bit stupid at times. :-) Friends who cheer me on through life. Friends that tell me when I'm in the wrong so that I can improve. Those are the friends I am truly thankful for.
7. I am thankful for my patriarchal blessing! Everyone gets asked the questions: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” and “What do you want to major in?” These have been unclear for me. I also felt that, I wasn't sent hear for anything special, that was everyone else's job. Also, I was worried that I wasn't ever going to get married and raise a family with a loving husband, which I want more than anything! I was also afraid that I might not be able to be with my Father in Heaven again, which I DESPERATELY WANT! But in my blessing he said that I would be able to kneel that the altar, and be sealed with a worthy Melchizedek Priesthood holder, and rear my children up in the gospel. I was told that my Father loves me, and that at the second coming that I would come clothed in glory, and that he would embrace me.I was told that I was here to inspire thousands, and that I was one of his elect daughters. That brought me to tears, and I felt SO loved in that moment. He had answered all of my questions fully, and I am content.
I hope that you guys liked them!
Sorry if they were WAY too long, but I had a lot to say that was important, and i couldn't put it in just three sentences! :-)
DeleteOops, that top one should say five above it! I guess I left that out, sorry about that!
DeleteI'm not sure why you had trouble, but you did a great job figuring out a solution. Keep trying to do it in one though for next time.
DeleteI'll try!
DeleteI connect with 6 a lot. I haven't had a friend in a long time that I could talk about everything with. I just recently became friends with you, but I feel like we were meant to be friends. :-)
DeleteAAAWWW!!!! Thanks Trevor! You're a really great friend. :-)
DeleteI agree with your Bite #2. I really enjoy trees they are so fun to play in!
DeleteI know right?! LOVE trees!
DeleteWow I like 5, I really like Mice too
ReplyDeleteyou're a really great writer.

DeleteYou're fine. :-)
Delete1. I am thankful for my parents. My parents are astonishing and I love them. They do a lot for me each and every day. My mom makes delicious dinner meals for my family every single day which is a lot of work and takes time, but she does it anyways. My dad goes to work and works for hours so that my family and I can have a roof to live under.
ReplyDelete2. I am very thankful for soccer, soccer is my most favorite sport and activity to do. I love to go outside and play soccer with my team or my family. It helps me stay in shape and be healthy and whenever I am bored I can just go outside and play!
3. I am thankful for school. Even though school can be a drag and sometimes be difficult and boring. I am thankful for it because some people in other countries don’t get a good education like I do. I get to learn a lot and when I graduate I can go to a good school and have a nice job and live a happy life.
4. I am thankful for my four siblings. I have wonderful, fun siblings that entertain me when I am bored or sad. They keep life a lot more fun and interesting.
5. I am thankful for the sun and for the light and beauty it brings to this world. I love being able to go outside and feel warmth and be able to relax in the sun and hear the birds chirp.
6. I am thankful for my dog and cat. I am grateful that I have them because when I am home and everyone is gone, they are there with me keeping me entertained and not feeling so lonely.
7. I am grateful for my mistakes. A lot of people may not think of that being something to be grateful for, but I do because without my mistakes I wouldn’t learn to do better. They help me to improve and become a better person.
I totally relate with 5 and 6! I don't have a dog or cat, but I have a bird, and I feel a similar feeling as you do when I'm alone at home. Great job!
DeleteI love what you said in #1. Parents are truly the best. You just summed up all my feelings. Thanks!
DeleteYou know, the same repetitive principles and things that people are grateful for keep coming up. I'm not saying that to criticize you, but to just point it out. It's actually a good thing that we have been saying we are thankful for our parents. When we bear our testimonies, what do we say? We say, "I'd like to bear my testimony that I know this church is true, I love my family and all that they do for me,...ect." Families are a big part of our lives. In fact, they are what we become when we grow up. It is important to be thankful for them now because you'll be spending an eternity with them either way.

The first thing that I wanted to write about is the Scriptures. This past year, I have learned to love and appreciate the Scriptures. They help me so much in my daily life and I am grateful that we have them on this earth today, and that we are able to read the whenever we want!
2.
I am grateful for Food. I really love to eat food! I feel that sometimes, we take food for granted. Even though there are some kids who don't even have food. Food is really awesome, and I am glad that I have it!
3.
I am grateful for socks! I love socks, because you can play around in them all day! I have all different kinds of socks, and I wear all of them! You may think that writing about socks may be weird, but I love them!
4.
I am thankful for movies! I love movies, because there are some movies where, you can laugh at them, and feel good. but then there are movies where they are super inspirational and they make you want to do something! I love watching movies!!
5.
I love my house! My house is where I can totally be my weird self. I don't have a big or fancy house; actually my house is kind of small. but its where my family is, so I love it!
6.
Technology! I am very thankful for technology, because we can talk to people on the phone, we can listen to music,or watch movies! We are even able to use it for school! We have Lds.org so that we can even spread the gospel!
7.
I am grateful for my journal! I can always just write anything I want in it. When I am having a bad day, I can just write down my frustrations and I feel better. when I am happy because I just did something amazing, (for example) I was just able to dance at the Capitol theater. it was an amazing experience! I was so happy! So I recorded it in my journal so that I can remember it.
I totally relate to 7! I love writing in my journal! Plus, when I have kids, I think that it will be something that they would enjoy looking through.
DeleteI agree with you on number 3! I love socks and I am grateful for them as well. They are awesome!

DeleteWhen I was younger, I remember a time when I wouldn't eat my food because I was either full or just didn't want to eat it. Seeing my plate still full and the lack of interest I had in it, my father took me to his room and sat me down. He then showed me pictures of half-starved kids living in India. I saw the lack of muscle, the look of hunger, and the need for help from each of those boys I saw. My dad then told me that by me not eating the food put before me, I was showing ungratefulness for the comforts that God has given me. Here I was, with a family and plenty of food to eat, while there were boys who were homeless and living off of any trash they could find. Food is a wonderful invention. Man was created to have dominion over all the earth. We should be grateful for the plenitude of blessings and comforts that we have, such as food, when the majority of the world doesn't have it available to them.
Abby F. period 1
DeleteCaleb A, thank you for sharing that! That was awesome!
I like what you said Caleb! Sometimes we take food for granted.
DeleteI love 3! Thats awesome! Socks are amazing! I also like what you said about the scriptures! It's the best book in the world! :-)
DeleteI love number 2 because I love food too. I think I'm always hungry because I'm growing right now.
DeleteI really liked what you said on number four. I also love movies sometimes they can be funny and sometimes they can be sad. One time at my girls camp we made a movie in my group; it was a lot of fun.
DeleteI love number seven. I really connect with that because I love writing in my journal too!
Delete1. I am grateful for music. As a violinist, December is a big month for performance opportunities. I am blessed to be involved in so many wonderful things. The best part of performing Christmas music is knowing that if I prepare to the best of my abilities, the Spirit will help me in the end because he is the one touching people’s hearts to turn closer to the Savior. When I am in the spotlight, it is not about me—it is about helping others feel the spirit and the love of Christ. I am grateful that I am a part of the wonderful world of music.
ReplyDelete2. I am grateful for tender mercies in my life. I was recently in a situation that I was not loving one bit. It was not measuring up to what I expected it to be and hardly anyone was committed to the end result. I “hardened my heart” to everything about it. I still attended, but I struggled to want to go at all; to me, it was a waste of time. Then, I decided to change my attitude. I realized that if I had to be there no matter what, I might as well make it a good experience. Literally 20 minutes after I “un-hardened” my heart, some structural leadership things changed that made all the difference for me. I know that all Heavenly Father was waiting for was an open heart and then He could give me the blessings I desired.
3. I am ever so grateful for Liahona. It has truly changed my life. It saddens me to look at everyone around me that is so utterly confused on some matters because they believe everything textbooks and teachers say, and they don’t care to think for themselves. I have learned more in preparing for the “life test” while attending Liahona for the past year, than I have my other 9 years of schooling.
4. I am grateful for the scriptures. I have found that I am becoming slightly addicted to them. :) My favorite part of going to bed is being able to read my scriptures. I practically count down the minutes until seminary, because all I want to do is learn more about them. I am by far no scriptorian, but it brings a feeling of peace and comfort to my life that I have never experienced before, so amongst this unsettling and darkening world, there is nothing more I want.
5. I am grateful for my family. They are truly the best. I can’t imagine life without them. We have all said this since we were in kindergarten and we write this on every love note to our family, but do we really think about it? Picture this: your family and everything your family has done or given you is instantly gone. What would you be? Sure, you might have a few things, but you would be pretty lost. That’s how I feel. Without my family as my ultimate support network and source of strength, I would be completely lost.
6. I am grateful for America. There are a lot of corrupt things happening, but focus on the big picture for a moment. Everything that has happened in history has been leading up to this point—this time. I am grateful for the people that have sacrificed to make this country possible. We are living in the PROMISED LAND of all promised lands. We are living on the continent that the Garden of Eden once rested. We are so near the place where the Savior will come again to the earth.
7. I’m grateful for color! Life would be terrible without vibrant hues surrounding and enveloping everything in sight. The most beautiful moments are largely because of color. If every sunset occurred in black and white, we would never stop and reflect on its splendor. If every flower were colorless, gardens would be very dull. Color makes me happy. :)
I would totally agree with your first bite Paige. I really enjoy music too. I'll have to put it on next week's post.
DeleteThis reply is difficult because if I were to write everything I wanted to, the comment box wouldn't have enough room to hold it all. But I shall comment on one of your bites that have had the greatest impression upon me and that is the one that is concerned with Liahona.
DeleteThis is only my second out of eleven years of school that I have attended Liahona. I too have been to public schools, have been taught their curriculums, and have been blinded from being able to see the correlation between education and religion, history and God. I saw them as two separate things until I came to Liahona.
Now, the importance in having these two principles sound with each other is because when you have Religion and Education taught together, it creates Truth. Any school can teach you education or knowledge of the things of this world, but can they truly teach you truth? Without an all-knowing God and the Spirit to guide us, it is impossible to discern what is true from false. Without Religion, you would only be learning dates and places and history. With it though, the spirit enables you to learn why those dates and places and history ever came about and the importance of every detail that unfolds with it. In other words, if you don't have the spirit, it is logically deduced that you won't learn anything from this school because without the spirit or religion, you can’t grasp the education being taught because of the way in which they are bound and taught together. If you are not strong in the faith, then everything you hear will go in one ear and out the other.
When you have the right religion (the LDS church) and the right education, you have truth and when you have truth, you have Agency.
Liahona is that right education. . .

Delete1) I am grateful for my best friend Jordan Bennion. Jordan makes me smile whenever I’m down and is overall an amazing guy. I love how he is always singing and always has a huge smile on his face. I love him so much, he is the best.
ReplyDelete2) I am grateful for my family. My family has helped me so much through these past few years of my life. I’ve had a lot of growing up to do, and I would’ve been a completely different person then I am now if I didn’t have the amazing parents and siblings that I have. They are the perfect family for me and my mortal journey.
3) I am grateful for my shoes! If I didn’t have shoes my life would freaking suck! I wouldn’t be able to go running, I wouldn’t be able to go on adventures, and I wouldn’t be able to dance the way I do. My shoes have completely revolutionized the way I fight my enemies, and defeat my foes.
4) I am grateful for my school. LPA has been a huge factor in shaping who I am as a human being. I would not be as self confident as I am now without the amazing people and teaching curriculum at Liahona Preparatory Academy. I was sent to this school by divine inspiration, and I can see why, the things I am learning here are helping me shape my future for the better.
5) I am filled with gratitude for “Gratitude Month”! This awesome challenge has made me reflect on my life in a very interesting way, I’m thinking about things that I would otherwise take for granted. I am finding little moments in my day where Gods hand is evident, I am learning to find the wonderfully positive blessing that God has placed in my life for me to enjoy and learn from. I love “Gratitude Month”.
6) I am so grateful for music and the roll it has played in helping me through tough times. I love being able to find someone in a completely different part of the world who has felt things similar to what I’m going through at the moment. Whenever I’m feeling blue, amazingly happy, angry, heartbroken, or even neutral, I can find a song that relates to how I am feeling right now. Music has helped me through all of my heartaches and afflictions that I have endured in my life. Music and the Scriptures that is.
7) I am thankful for my DRUMS!! Oh my goodness I practice the drums at least three hours a day. I find so much joy and relief in banging on the drums. Now a bit of poetry that truly relates to this topic: “I don’t want to work; I just want to bang on the drums all day. I don’t want to play, I just want to bang on the drums all day. I get home from work and I feel so frustrated because my boss is a jerk. I grab my sticks and go out to the shed, and I bang on the drums like it was my boss’s head!!!” Drums help me relieve stress and anxiety. I love the drums and am thankful for my talent in playing the drums.
That was beautiful, dude. The last one was my fav because it resonated with me on a personal level. Thank you for your inspirational words, my friend.
DeleteI really like number three.
Deletedance like you do? Nice!
I love how you said shoes! I feel like that is something everyone would really notice if we suddenly didn't have any more of them in the universe but it never comes to mind when people ask what you're grateful for. Imagine trying to live life without shoes. It would be craziness! Good job!

ReplyDelete1. I am so freaking grateful for “The Secret Garden: The Original Broadway Soundtrack.” It is the most beautifully written, most well done, most cast, most bestest musical ever written. The meaning and the message of the whole thing is just incredible! The meaning and message that I have taken from it being, “No matter how dark it is, no matter how far deep in the trenches of your soul you seem to be, no matter how desperate for love you are, there will always be light at the end of the tunnel. There will always be love and joy waiting for you, and there is never a need to give up on anyone or anything.” Anyways, I am just so, so, so, so grateful for this musical and y’all should definitely listen to it.
2. I am grateful for the truly amazing and fantastic group of friends that I have.
Let me list a few of them so you’ll get the idea of how truly amazing and fantastic they are.
1st! Jeanelle Long. She has just been such a great influence in my life and has always helped me keep my head on straight.
2nd! Julia Johnson. Oh my, JJ has been there for me for almost 2 years now! We’ve been besties for a while and she has been one of the biggest influences on me in how I act, treat, and see others.
3d! Hali Benabou. If there is one person in this earth that I can turn to to find happiness, It’s Hali Benabou gosh darn it! She is always so happy, confident, and smart. And, she has helped me countless times to see my self worth and value. She is truly an amazing and fantastic friend.
4th! Hawken Kerr. This kid is the studliest, manliest, raddest, coolest, most awesomest, kid I know. He just knows when I’m feeling down and is always able to pick me up right away. I know that he has a special spiritual gift for making people feel special.
Anyways, I have a lot of friends, but those are the few that came to mind when writing this post. I love every single person that is in my life right now. Yup.
3. I am darn grateful for food dad gummit!
My Pa’s cookin is the best darn tootin thing around town there is! Why, If there ain’t nothing left that I’d eat in the world besides my pa’s cooking, I’d be okay because he’s dang amazing!
4. Living Prophets.
I am eternally grateful for the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is such a blessing to have living prophets upon the earth that can communicate with us what God would have us do. Of course we can all receive personal revelation, But it is always nice to know where the next temple is going to be, what the updates on missionary work are, and if we need to flee to Adam Ondi Ahmen yet. I am Grateful for Prophets.
5. Poetry.
There is nothing finer in life,
Than poetry from the page well writ.
A fresh haiku,
Or Sonnet will do,
Poetry moves my heart,
And It moves yours too.
6.Rap Battles with Sista J!
yeahhhhh that’s right. y’all heard me say it!
I’m so down with throw downs, it ain’t even funny.
I got licks in my lips bouncing faster than bugs bunny.
And every time she comes back to rhyme, a rebuttal I find in my pantry.
I’ll tell ya right now, I’m the coolest kid around.
And my name is T-Jennkity..
Or T-Janks, T-Scars, T-Money, The Trevester, Trev, T-Crusty, Etc. Etc.
7. Music.
This one is similar to the first paragraph, but I felt the need to expound a little more on the subject of music. There is no power greater in life (besides the Gospel) than music. Whether I’m writing it, or listening to someone else’s writing, It never fails to move me in some way, shape, or form. I am grateful for music.

ReplyDelete1. I am grateful for a car that works. I can be taxied around by my mom to everywhere I need to go. I can get to young mens, church, scouts, and to the store to pick up something that I might have just ordered. Most people around the world don’t have a working car like my parents do. This is just one of the many things that make my life so much better.
2. This one’s a biggy...The second amendment.(The right to bear arms) I really enjoy shooting and I am happy that I can do so freely and without trouble from the police or the government like in other countries. This allows me to have recreational fun and at the same time, If needed, keep my family safe.
3. I grateful that I can walk. I know people who can’t walk and their life is so much more challenging than mine. My legs and arms work and I have never had trouble with them. It’s nice to have a body that works!
4. I’m grateful for the LDS Church. It has given me so much insight into the eternal point of things. The teachings of the the church make me realize that I can be with my deceased loved ones again. The church has made me realize that I have a Heavenly father that loves me and cares for me and wants me to succeed. Heavenly father loves me individually and I’m very grateful for that.
5. I’m grateful for the chance to go to Liahona. It is such a great school and all the teachers are so devoted to their work. Liahona is a great opportunity and a great way to make new friends. So far, this is my favorite school because it integrates the gospel into almost everything.
6. I’m grateful for a nice house. I am very happy that I don’t sleep in a cardboard box every night. My house is not just a good shelter, it is a home. It is here that I can spend quality time with my family and really get to enjoy each others company. I’m glad that my home is a home of happiness and peace and safety.
7. I’m very thankful for good food. My mom is a great cook and she makes meals for me every day. She doesn’t make me pay for the food or do slave labor for it. Lots and lots of people around the world don’t get three meals a day, or even two. Some people are lucky to get one small meal a day. I’m happy that I can enjoy three meals a day.
I can relate with #2. I love shooting and I'm grateful that we can.

ReplyDelete1. Aubrey Wilkinson. She is the cutest little sass. We have little "traditions" or inside jokes that we keep to each other. She may be 11 but she does not act 11. She acts like she's 3. Just kidding! She acts mature but in a loving youthful way. Also, she can just talk with you and be herself and she is okay with that. Plus, she has a freaking great sense of style; and double chin.
2. I am also very grateful for Theatre. The Drama Club at school has changed my life. That is literally the motto of our drama group. Change A Life. I love to act and to get out there and preform an teach others. I love to be different characters and memorize the songs and lines as they become apart of me.
3. I love Aspen Fadely! She is so peppy but not at all. She has a fun Spirit and loves to just talk and have a great time. She also generously gives practically everyone her food, which is so kind! And just her giving you a hug a couple times a day is just the sweetest!
4. I will totally love Eli Bennion if he tells me what he and Spencer Clark were talking about me in math. Hahaha, another inside joke. But seriously what were you two talking about? Anyway his chunky self, more like masculine self, is like a teddy bear. He has these huge cheeks that just melt your heart. His smile will always cheer up your day along with his loving gorilla hugs.
5. In the car ride home I had my feet propped out of the rolled down window. The wondrous cool winds blowing in my face and hair. It is such a magnificent feeling to have the refreshing wind purge onto your face. Chilling your whole body. I love the wind
6. Autumn is my favorite season! For multiple reasons such as the wind, food, smells, and colors, but especially the crisp fallen leaves. I have many family memories from raking the leaves from the bristles of grass into piles. Jumping into them and stomping them in garbage bags. And just recently stuffing the yellow stingy leaves into the shirts of Hawken, Gabe, and his little siblings, Shirley, and Henry. All gaining up on Hawken who was a little sneak. I appreciate the Autumn Spirit.
7. In our new kindly colored yellow home, the intercom system is a blast. We usually use the Pandora radios. Especially the Disney Lion King radio which we (I) belt out; not paying attention to the rough out of tuned voices accompanying the music.
I love 4 and 6!!! Autumn is AMAZING! And I think your description of Eli was really cute. :-)

ReplyDelete1. I’m grateful for my family. They love me, support me, help me, and want the best for me. I love spending time with my family. I can laugh with them and be sad with them. We can help each other become better people. They are always there when I need them, in the rough times and the good times. I’m grateful for my family because they accept me for who I am.
2. I’m grateful piano. It helps me express myself in a different way other than speaking. When I hear or play the piano I feel good inside. Right now I’m learning Moonlight Sonata, and I love it! I want to share my talent of playing the piano with everyone!
3. I’m grateful for my bed. My bed is somewhere comfortable that I can sleep. I do my homework on my bed, lay there when I’m sick, and kneel by when I pray. My bed will always be there when I need a place to cry or feel down. I know that not everyone in the world has a bed, so I’m grateful that I have one.
4. I’m grateful for my friends. My friends enlighten my life!
A friend is someone that you can talk to easily. They are someone that can lift you up when you’re down. A friend will always be there for you. I haven’t had a good friend for a long time that I’m comfortable talking to about everything. I’ve had friends that have not been loyal to me and are mean to me. I’m so grateful for my new friends that I’ve made. They make me feel important!
5. I’m grateful for my trials. My trials make me a better person. I lost my brother in an ATV accident a couple years ago. This is very hard for me. My brother was my best friend. We did everything together. Without the gospel I don’t know what I would do with myself. Knowing that I will see him again comforts me. This leads on to my next gratitude bite.
6. I’m extremely grateful for the gospel! The gospel helps me become a better person, and work on my faults. I know I’m not perfect, but I strive to become like Christ. Through the gospel I know that my family can be together forever! I so desperately want this. I know that I was sent here for a reason: to become a better person, preach the gospel, help those in need, to get an education, stand up for what I believe in and for what’s right, and to have a family and rear them up in the gospel! I am so blessed to have the gospel in my life.
7. I am grateful for food. It nourishes my body and gives me strength. I love Italian! It tastes so good! I am grateful that I have food to eat everyday.

ReplyDelete1. I am grateful for cold, dark, cloudy days and warm, cozy fires. I am grateful for these things because the cold reminds me that I have warm clothes to wear, a house that protects me from the cold, blankets and a bed to snuggle into, and a warm fire to sit in front of as I read, do homework, or sleep. I’m also grateful for these things because they just remind me that happiness can be found in the simple things of life.
2. I’m grateful for my family; for their love and support. They have helped make me and mold me into the person that I am today. We have so many good memories to look back on and laugh about. We also have some not so good memories to look back on and find strength and comfort from because we made it through those times. My family always encourages me in my desires and my pursuits. And they discourage me when I’m going to do something stupid. My family is always there for me and I’m so grateful that they are here with me on this earth at this time.
3. Since I have four brothers, I am very grateful to have an older sister. I look up to her in every way. She has given me such good advice and support throughout the years. She is such a good example to me and she has influenced me in so many ways. For example, she has gone and graduated from college, and she was able to graduate without any debt. She worked hard on her education but also outside of her education so that she could support herself. Her example has shown me that it is possible to make it through college without getting into debt. If you’re willing to make sacrifices and work hard, you can do it. And that applies to all aspects of life. I love my sister!!!
4. I am grateful for plays and musicals. They take me away from reality for a few hours and let my imagination soar. I am grateful for actors and actresses who are willing to share their talents to tell a story and share the message in it. I love sitting there and watching the character’s stories unfold, see them grow and become better, and I love connecting with the characters. Musicals just make me so happy because, to quote from a musical, “…it takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for, for when you’re feeling blue. You know?” (The Drowsy Chaperone) And that’s exactly what musicals, and plays, do to me. And I love it!!!
5. I AM GRATEFUL FOR FOOD!!!! Food is just plain delicious and I’m so glad that I get to eat it and enjoy it. It gives me energy, joy, and a sense of purpose in my life. I like trying new and different kinds of foods. It amazes me how so many things you don’t think will be good together are actually REALLY good together. I am so excited for Thanksgiving where I get to stuff myself on food.
6. As much as I hate them sometimes, I do have to say that I am grateful for alarm clocks. They help me make sure that I’m on time, because early is on time, and doing things when I need to. They remind me what needs to be done and that I need to focus on those things. Yes, they can be SO annoying, but let’s be honest, we need them.
7. I am grateful that I can drive a car. It’s so nice being able to drive myself around and not have to drag my mom or dad places. If I have to run and get something really fast, I can just do it and not interrupt anything they might be doing. I’m grateful that my parents need me to be able to drive and trust me to drive. Driving is so much fun and I love it!!
I love you Red!! I have to say I am grateful for and love food too. I'm ready for Thanksgiving too. Thanks for sharing!
DeleteRed that first one was amazing! I loved the imagery! I love fires and cold days. I could almost hear the crackle of the hearth when I read it!

ReplyDelete1. I’m grateful for my mom because she feeds me food, she gives me hugs and she helps me with my homework. I am happy because she lets us have animals. I love to tickle my mom to show her how much I love her.
2. I’m grateful for the time change last Sunday. I was able to sleep in a whole extra hour and it felt so good. I wish the time would go backwards every year instead of forward and then backwards. That might get confusing though.
3. I’m grateful for my animals. I have 3 dogs and 1 cat that just had 2 super cute kittens. My big dog is named Dakota and she is part Husky and part Australian Shepherd. She is beautiful and loves to run around the yard. The 2 little dogs are Tshi-Tzu’s and they are kind of stubborn but really fun to play with. My mama cats name is Zimbi and we haven’t named the kittens because my mom says they can’t stay even though they are cute.
4. I’m very grateful for my WiiU because it has lots of cool games on it. I really want to get Super Mario Maker to play on it this year. It looks like fun because you can create your own stages.
5. I am grateful for my house. When I’m at my house I feel very comfortable, sometimes I feel lazy and most of all I feel happy. I love playing with my friends and family in my house.
6. I am grateful for my brother, Cameron, who is serving a mission in Tampa, Florida. He is 19 years old and has been on his mission for 16 months. I love my big brother. He is a great example for me to follow.
7. I am grateful for my room because it is very comfortable. It has a nice bed in it and fun toys to play with like my stuffed animals and my 3DS. My room is my own little getaway when I just want to relax.

1.I’m grateful for my family. Our family is the people who make use who we are.
They are the people who help in times of need and they take care of you through out all
of your life.
2.I’m grateful for my home. home is the place you live not stay. The home is essential to the family and the people who love you. You do not survive in it you live in it.
3.I’m grateful for technology. Poem:

tech of the future.
from the little bright screen in your pocket.

4.I’m grateful for words. Poem:
I type or if you are reading this I speak.
we all need words and it is time that we than them.
we use and don’t think.
not thanking or talking…
about how we need the words.
the beautiful words.
all words are needed for what we say.
so this is a tribute to the
words
5.I’m grateful for food.”Food wonderful food when will i get some?”- oliver twist.
Food the energy of life we need it. The food we eat is what all we have to make us grow.
If we don’t grow then there is not purpose.
6.I’m grateful for books. Books contain knowledge and knowledge is power.
The books we read influence us in ways you can not imagine. It expands
the mind and soul. Imagination is the key of a book it lets us see it the way we want
to.
7.I’m grateful for God. He is our father who is on heaven. We are his spirit children.
The father of our spirits. We are here because he loves us no mater what.
I love number 6 it's a great way to explain books. Books are knowledge and knowledge is power. Books are a great way to learn things instead of using computers.
DeleteOne- I am really grateful for the ability to pray to a heavenly father who hears and answers my prayers. He really knows me and gives the best advice. I love being able to just close my eyes and have a quick conversation with Him to calm my nerves and give me confidence.
ReplyDeleteTwo- I am insanely grateful for my family. My mom is always there when I need her and is such an example to me of charity and Christ like service. My dad is such a goofball but I love him and his lame jokes. I also appreciate that he is worthy to hold the priesthood and sets an example of what kind of a guy I should be looking for and that my little brother can be. I’m grateful for Noah and all of our geeking out about books and TV shows, not to mention our Nerf wars. I’m grateful for my younger sister Megan and all of our late night giggles, baking afternoons and adventures.
Three- I am incredibly grateful for the fact I passed my driving test today! I’m grateful I had the ability to learn this new skill and didn’t panic during the test! I’m so excited to be able to drive myself to social activities and of course the book store.
Four- That brings me to the next thing on my list, books. I am so grateful to books of all kinds. I love being able to hide away in the comfort of familiar words and stories when I am stressed. As well as visit new worlds and go on adventures when I’m bored. I value everything that I learn from reading about people, English and myself.
Five- I am grateful for the fact I get sick. I hate being sick but I am grateful for it because it makes me feel all the more lucky to be healthy when it’s all said and done. Does anyone else feel like that? It’s like when you have a really bad day followed by a really good day. The bad makes the good altogether better than it would have been otherwise. As well as glad that I have a working and functioning body.
Six- I am grateful for my fingers. They are fantastic for tickling little ones, baking cupcakes, climbing mountains, poking my siblings and friends, eating and using any kind of utensils, tying my shoes, catch a ball, hold hands, type out stories, apply make-up, help others move and so, so much more. I don’t know what I would do without them.
Seven- Finally I am grateful for my Liahona family. You guys make me so happy. You’re kind, happy, smart, and absolutely ridiculous and such strong spirits. You are the main reason I keep going to Liahona year after year. I laugh at your chat comments, silliness in the classroom and overall wonderfulness. You guys need to stay awesome! I love you all and miss you terribly!!!
I think it's pretty cool that you like being sick and I agree it makes you appreciate feeling healthy. Books not my thing but go you! You passed your driving test :O good job. Hannah Goody 11/5/2015 2:33 DE

ReplyDelete1. I’m thankful for pumpkins. Every year around Halloween time we get are Halloween decorations out. My favorite decoration is the pumpkins. Every year we have pumpkin waffles they’re the best!
2. I’m thankful for snow. I love the snow when you wake up and look out the window and there’s twinkling snow on the ground. But my favorite thing to do in the snow is ride snow mobiles. :D
3. I’m thankful for heat! Snow is great but it’s nice to come home to a warm house. My favorite thing is to warm up by the fire, and drink hot cocoa.
4. I’m thankful for fabric. Fabric is everywhere! Can you imagine life without fabric? Fabric is a number one necessity to me.
5. I’m thankful for carpet. If we didn’t have carpet you couldn’t come home after a long day and throw off your socks and put your feet on your carpet. Carpet’s like a never ending free toe meadow
6. I’m thankful for corn. Corn is really good with lots of butter and salt! I love in the fall going through big tall corn mazes. I wish they were up all year round.
7. I’m thankful for nail polish. If girls didn’t have nail polish it would be a plain finger and toe world. Nail polish lets girls express there selves on their hands and their toes!
I really liked yours because I can relate to number two. I related to number two because of being in Georgia you don't get much snow but when we do it looks really pretty. Its really funny when it does snow people freak out over less then an inch.

ReplyDelete1)Dear Taco-
I am writing to you to say thanks. Thank you ever so much for being part of my life, and for existing in general. Your crunch is a sensation to my teeth, and your condiments are a sensation to my taste buds. The way you fit perfectly and curve into my hand, the way you smell, the way you are, you individually are an amazing additional to my life, thank you.
2)My favorite drink to quench my thirst
The crystal clear liquid refreshment fills my parched throat. A smack with my tongue I make following my swallow of the not-so tasteless drink. My cup is filled with cubes of ice; they crack and slowly turn inside when I lift it from its place. I will forever be grateful for thee, my H2O friend.
3)Number 2 HB of course
The tip of my pencil is cold to my lips. The hexagonal shape is a fun grip to make. The pinkness of my eraser dear, now my thoughts can be written clear-er. I appreciate your existence.
4)Apples are autumn’s fruit
Apples are truly a delight. They make life sweeter; draw me nearer to my Savior in an interesting way: for before I partake, I thank my Creator for filling my life with such fruity variety, but especially for this apple Thou hast given me.
5)Mattaya,
Ever since sixth grade you have made my life better. Your smile brightens mine, just thinking of all the sweet memories, a smile to my face they bring. Your fantastic birthday parties, that time we played with Barbie’s- Oh! And do you remember when we drank from those cool water bottles, and had delicious granola bars? I do, and I’m grateful for those times and for your friendship, have a wonderful day!
6)A Christmas gift I use most frequently
The capture of a perfect moment in time is what is on my wall. Beneath is written my life in boxes very small. Each month I flip the page to see what my future brings, and there too lies a picture of nature, that makes my heart and soul sing.
7)Dedicated to all my glasses, past and present -
Without them I can’t exactly see, I wouldn't even know where I’d be, or to whom I was conversing with. They fit my personality that is of being quirky, and a tad nerdy. I’ve had them ever since 3rd grade, and they truly have made a significant impact upon my life.

DeleteOkay Amber, speaking of number one, how could you possibly fully enjoy a taco without meat in it? I mean a tofu taco does not sound like the most appealing thing to me. But the second one is on point👌. Water, if ice cold, is the best thing...ever. Also #7 is totally relatable. I haven't had my glasses quite as long but I have just as good connection with them.
Also the two little weird question marks are supposed to be an emoji....
DeleteI liked #1 because you described the taco very well.
DeleteYou made me hunger for Tacos :'D

1. P.S THIS IS LYDIA’S SISTER. I’m thankful for my family they help me every day and though I might not notice it they help me in grate ways. They bought me clothes that keep me warm and gave me shelter for the storms and I might feel sad or mad that’s true but think without family what would you do. You would have no money and also no food. So be kind to your family and try not to be rude. Time: 12:10 pm date: Oct 27 2015
ReplyDelete2. Today I’m thankful for the scriptures that tell me what is right and with these tools day by day I read them without fright. The scriptures give me answers that tell me right from wrong and though the path way may not be clear listen closely and you will hear the spirit leading the way. So listen reverently and you’ll soon see that the scriptures help you and me, and the spirit we’ll know is real. Date: Oct 28 2015
3. Today I’m thankful for plants. Plants can be pretty and weird shaped to. Without plants we would have very little food. They help us breathe by recycling air by tanking the carbon dioxide and turning it into oxygen. Vegetables are plants too and the meat we eat mostly comes from animals that eat vegetables and plants, also we would have no honey from the bees because bees need nectar to make honey so thank you to the plants. Date: Oct 29 2015
4. Today I’m thankful for food and this is why. Without food our body can’t work well and food can taste good it can also be healthy or unhealthy. Food is a great resource. So everyone needs food even if they want it or not ,but don’t eat too much of any type of food it can make you really fat or if you eat way too much of it you could die so try to eat healthy. Date: Oct 30 2015.
5. Today I’m thankful for beds they help us to feel safe and comfy and help us to sleep better then we could if we slept on the floor and we can play games in our bed or have fun dreams or jest rest. I love my bed and it makes me happy thank you for reading this. Blankets are AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Date: Oct 31 2015.
6. I’m thankful for friends today they help to make me happy. Friends can have fun with you but they can also argue with you, so I’m thankful friends. I love my friends so be kind to yours. Date: Nov 1 2015
7. Today I’m thankful for games. That’s right Video games, board games, card games, the whole enchilada they give us brakes form work. It’s a little like this imagine a computer that’s been working nonstop. What does it do it does one of these four things; A. Run’s out of battery. B. has a meltdown. C. explodes or D. all of the above. So do yourself a favor don’t explode and take a brake every once and a while. Date: Nov 2 2015

ReplyDelete1. I am grateful for water because it is essential for life. Without it we would all die in a few days. It is cold, refreshing, and it runs down your mouth with smoothness and it cools your body down to a perfect temperature. We would not be here if it wasn’t for our oceans to continue the water cycle, and it cools down the earth to a “normal” temperature. We are 70% water ,and many things come out of water and I am so grateful that we all have water.
2. I am grateful for food it is also essential for life. Food can be many delightful flavors. We have Salty French fries, Sweet Potatoes, Crunchy peanuts, Sour lemonade, Bitter well I don’t eat bitter food. Anyways food helps us all grow healthy and strong, and who doesn’t like food? In conclusion we all should be grateful for all the food God has given us.
3. I am grateful for my home. We all need a home to have a great and happy life. It protects us from the elements and from sickness. A home is where your heart is. A house is just the physical side of a home. Your Dad or Mom or both work hard to get a house and soon it will be a home.
I see a homeless person almost every day I feel bad for them. Every Christmas break we give the homeless people a gift of Water and Food. In conclusion I am so grateful that I have a great house and home.
4. I am grateful for my family. Life doesn’t work without one you will be depressed, lonely, and miserable. That is why we all need families. I am going to meet foster kids and play with them
It helps them to not be so lonely. If I didn’t have a family I don’t know I would do. It would be horrible and miserable. I am so grateful to have a family because I would not be the person I am now without my parents.
5. I am grateful for the Ten Commandments because without them America would be a nutso country. The first commandment no other Gods before me. Even though some people do that The Christians, the Jews, and the Catholics. Don’t do that often at least. 2nd one is “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven….” So basically don’t worship a Holy cow. Some worship Idols in America but not a huge percentage. The next is “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain….” The world has a problem with this these days and we should stand up and say it is wrong! The 4th one is “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” It means that you should work 6 days of the week and take Sunday off, be with your family, and do family home evening well we do on Sunday and of course go to church and partake of the sacrament to renew your covenant to God.
I realized this will turn into a whole page if I do all 10 Commandments today I will do 5. 5th one is “Honour thy father and thy mother….” Be good to your parents they give you: Water, Food, Home, and they are family. They gave you life and everything possibility you can do in life. They hope for you to have a great future. In Conclusion I am super grateful for The Ten Commandments.

6. I am grateful for the Earth. It has amazing waterfalls that trickle down the mountain side. Beautiful sunsets across the evening sky. The Complex sky amazes me. The crashing waves on the Beach are constant and peaceful. The sound of the forest with all the wild life is a peaceful moment. Getting away from all the honking cars and stinky trucks. I hiked up the tallest mountain of Oahu and the mountain’s view was mind blowing.I am so grateful for being on the most beautiful planet of all the universe the Earth!
7. I am grateful to write to you all today. I like this Gratitude month because it helps me realize how many things I should be thankful for. Because I am not the best writer this helps me improve with my writing. I am also grateful you people that comment on my posts so see you there!

1. I am grateful for water. I love water, the feel of cool clear water running down your throat and chilling you when you drink it first thing in the morning. I love crystal clear ponds wear you can see the round pebbles on the bottom, or up in the mountains the little babbling brooks with deep green moss growing on the edges and the stones guiding the water to form little divots and bubbles and miniature waterfalls. I love the rhythmic rolling of the ocean waves beating against the sand. I am grateful for water.
2. I am grateful for jerks. You know those people that are just rude for no reason, those people who take your parking spot, always make rude comments, insult the things you believe or are just plain annoying. I’m grateful for them because they teach me patience and understanding, and they help me to realize my own faults, in turn being more sympathetic towards others because, after all, I’m not perfect.
3. I am grateful for words. Many people say that I have a way with them, and I find joy in expressing my thoughts and feelings through writing. I love those beautiful words that just are so jam packed with meaning that just saying them gets the wheels in your head turning. They help me to describe my ideas more keenly, creating a vivid image in my reader's mind. Some of my favorites are: Divine, shimmering, crystalline, melancholy, heartache, wrenching, distraught, weeping, crunch, lamentation, swell, elated, ecstatic, perky, cackle, and of course, moist.
4. Eyes are the gateway to the soul. It’s often said, and oh too true. I frequently notice people’s eyes, they are so beautiful! Some are shocking blue, some look like crystallized honey, and still others like an ice fringed lake. All expressions look wrong if the eyes aren’t into it. Ever seen a fake smile? The eyes give it away. When you look into someone’s eyes, you see a tiny fraction of them, their past, their dreams, their soul.
5. Me, myself, and I. Sometimes I sit alone and think of my life, my body, my spirit. How incredible is it that each of us had this perfectly unique combination of hair color, skin color, height, personality, and soul. Just think of how wonderful it is that you ended up right here, right now. You could be in a third world country, starving and in awful poverty, you could be in france, germany, russia, anywhere, (or maybe you’re a DE and you are) but you are here. You were lucky enough to be raised in the gospel, or lucky enough to have learned of it. You are one of God’s chosen fighters, that’s why we are called the Liahona Warriors. Our Heavenly Father put us where we are, in our families, with our friends, for a reason, and you are meant to be.
6. Smiles are beautiful. I love smiles. We all know someone who just has the best smile, a contagious smile, that you can’t help but love *cough* Jordan Bennion *cough*. When you smile your whole face lights up, and you just feel better. I know that one of the best services that can be given is a smile. When you are walking down the halls, excuse me, hall, and someone smiles at you, it just lightens up your day. I’m thankful for those smiles.
7. I’m thankful for thankfuls. I’m so glad that I know how to give thanks for what I have! I’m glad I have parents, teachers, and prophets who have raised me to know that counting my many blessings is the best way to be happy for what I have. Each year I find it harder and harder for me to think of things I want for Christmas or my birthday, because I’m so thankful for what I already have that I feel I don’t need anything else. Isn’t that wonderful? That we are doing these gratitude bites? It just goes to show that we all know how to be thankful, and I’m thankful for that.
I like how you describe eyes as a gateway that lets you see into someones past.
DeleteCalleb Hartshorn 4

ReplyDelete1. Ballet is my way of life. And I honestly don't know how I would be able to cope with life. It's my way of releasing everything in a physical way. Without ballet I wouldn't have the same value of confidence. I wouldn't have the same view point of physical fitness. Ballet has helped me to express emotions that can't go into words. Even though everyone says that about their passion, it's the way that I like to describe it.
2. I'm thankful for the blue days. I'm thankful for the days when I feel like everything is going wrong and when the good is outweighed by the bad. The blue days are a blessing because then I can truly be grateful for the days when it couldn't get better. The blue days help me come to Christ because he is the only one who can pull me up and see the light.
3. I'm grateful for my agency. I think that all of us as human beings aren't as grateful as we should be for it, but what a blessing it is to make every choice. And the way that we can show our gratitude to God for giving us agency is to give it up to His Will. It's a very interesting concept and I'm glad for the oppurtunity to make my own choices. Some are not the right choices, but then I'm able to learn from them. Some are the right choices, and that helps me to come closer to Christ so I can live with Him again.
4., I'm grateful for smiles and laughs. Isn't it interesting that God made us these bodies that are capable of expressing emotion. And my favorite display of emotion is happiness, happiness shown through laughing and smiling. Everyone's fondest memory of a happy time includes a smile or a laugh.
5. I'm grateful for the night sky with stars and worlds and galaxies shining. I have a particular memory from Trek in Martin's Cove and some friends and I woke up from a wind storm. My 3 girls and I laid down on the benches and looked at the clear sky, and it was so breath taking seeing God's miracles. It touched me in a very permanent way.
6. I'm grateful for my friend Sarah. She moved to Washington this past summer, and it's been really hard. She's moved several times, and I enjoy talking to her and catching up. I'm grateful for her support of me, the way we connected in whatever activity we were doing. Whether it be girl's camp, youth conference, school, church, or piano we would always come back to each other at the end of the day and share feelings of love.
7. I'm grateful for the opportunity that I have to be with my family. I get to see each member of my family every day, and even if sometimes we don't get along, it's helped me to stay strong being with them. I'm grateful for the love that we have for each other, and that no matter what happens we will all have that longing and desire to be together.

1 Works of art that people like myself create. I enjoy creating works of art, from a doodle, to a little clay sculpture. Joy fills my heart when I feel accomplishment though my art.
ReplyDelete2 I’m grateful for being able to stay home and watch my classes online. When I’m sick I don’t have to worry about missing assignments. I’m glad that I’m able to keep up on my work even when i’m sick at home.

4 Cliche, but I’m so thankful for my mother. She is the most amazing person I can think of. My mom and I are closest friends and I appreciate that. This might sound a little strange, but I’m grateful that my mom has depression and anxiety, because I’m able to relate to her, and she can help me with that in me.
5 I’m grateful for the the heater in my house!!! Oh my land, I’m so thankful for that heater. I am the kind of person who is almost always cold (even in the summer to be honest) and having that heater gives me so much relief and comfort.
6 Medicinal care is something everyone should be grateful for. I’ve been sick in bed with bronchitis this entire week, but I’ve been able to make a recovery with the help of all sorts of medicines.I've gotten a lot better when the doctor gave me certain prescriptions, which just goes to show that medicine really does help.
7 Music is something I really love and something I’ve come to appreciate. Something I like to say is, “music is like giving someone a hug with your ears”. Music is such a big influence in my life and many others, so I consider it something I can be grateful for.

5. I am grateful to be able to read and write. I know that some people cannot and I am grateful that I can deepen my understanding in knowledge of things. I know that as I read the Book of Mormon, the words are true and powerful.
6. I am grateful for my family because they will always be a fallback and a support when I need it. When I have trouble in my life they are always there to comfort me and lead me on the right path. They always come to my football games for support. I know that they love me and I love them back equally.
7. Today I am grateful for Boy Scouts of America. Not only have I learned many useful tricks like how to start a fire or how to tie a square knot, this organization helped me be patient and caring to others around me. I am thankful that I have the opportunity to help others with what the Boy Scouts of America has taught me.

ReplyDelete1. I thank God for the beauty of this earth, but more specifically, the beauty that is found within clouds. What would earth be like if clouds were not white and fluffy but were instead, neon green and solid? If God had not made the clouds the way they are now, the world would not look nearly as beautiful. I like to think of clouds as being a building that encompasses a Heavenly and Magnificent throne that is found within its outer borders. Without the colors and texture that define the cloud, the substitute could never look as pleasing. The world we live in is exceedingly beautiful and it was made just for us.
2. Sister Jackson has done much for us. She has coped with our behavior, been patient with our faults, and has taught us all that we need to know with the Spirit always with her. The Spirit does much more than warm our hearts; it leaves an imprint on our lives that will stay with us where ever we go. When the doctrine being taught and the hostess teaching it are one with each other, the reality of knowledge transforms into pure truth. With truth, we will know what is true, and we will have the ability to teach that same truth to others who know it not.
3. I think not of commandments as restrictions, but rather, as blessings. I remember hearing from one of my Seminary classes that the commandments looks like a picket fence. There are those who, when they see it, think they see greener grass on the other side and in so doing, jump over the fence. But, it is only until after they had let go that they realized that what they had thought was a fence was really a guardrail. Commandments are our protection against falling into hopelessness. By simply keeping them, we can be happier and feel more enlightened.
4. The scriptures were hand-carved by inspired men keeping a journal. Some of the time, what they wrote in the scriptures was the last thing they did before departing this life. What is found within those pages are meant for us and are there for us to refer to. The scriptures are a history of a people and by studying it, we can prevent making the same mistakes as those who have already undergone what we are about to go through. The scriptures explain the love of Christ and his unconditional love. When we read it, we are at peace for we are truly reading his words.
5. I am so glad God put hair upon the heads of us, his children. If it were not so, the world would certainly look repetitive in its appearance and would be very difficult for us to differentiate one another. If we didn’t have hair, what would we do with all the extra time we have getting ready for the dance? A man’s looks are only as good as his luscious hair, and teeth.
6. Sleep is a wonderful ally to a man whose day has betrayed him. This is so because every day is a new day. The process in which simply closing your eyes for some time can relieve you of any previous fatigue is fascinating. I am thankful not just for sleep alone, but for the dreams that come with it. I can fly upon wings through a forest of green, whenever I dream of a life beyond me. I can sing in the air with a voice so rare, and with features so fair that I throw back my hair.
Sleep is a blessing for the minds of the dreary,
but if we’re awake through the night then in the day we’ll be weary.
7. What would we do if our keyboard didn’t contain the ‘backspace’ button? We would probably fail in keeping the look of a formal and neat paper. What if there was no atonement to forgive us of our mistakes? We would fail. God sent Jesus to our lives to install the backspace button on our keyboards. He is the data-bank where all our mistakes go when we delete it from our paper. Just like the definition of energy, the mistakes we make cannot simply disappear. It is transferred or converted instead to another form. That form is Jesus Christ and the everlasting Atonement. We owe our eternity to him; without his sacrifice, we would never see joy.
I really love 1. It is very unique and I would probably passed it by. It truly is a blessing to have clouds. Thank you for showing me something else to be thankful for!

ReplyDelete1. I am thankful for basketball. I love this sport. I also love the sisterhood that develops between the teammates. My basketball sisters are some of my closest friends. I always look forward to practice so I can be with my pals. BASKETBALL IS THE BEST!
ReplyDelete2. I am thankful for trees. You guys are probably going sure they produce oxygen of course you are thankful for them. Yes, that is one reason but only one. They are great for building things. I mean the house you are probably in right now was likely mainly made of wood. Also if you have a fire place you burn wood in it which comes from trees. They are also fun to climb in (at least for me). I could name more but I think you get the point.
3. I am thankful for photos. It is so fun to see your family or friends even when they are not beside you. They help you keep memories and make you happy when you remember things about them. They also decorate your home.
4. I am thankful for maps. They let you see the immensity of the world on a small scale. They also keep you from getting lost. They help you know where things took place when you are learning about things in History. They show you where you are and help you get where you are going. Kind of like the scriptures help you on your journey back to God.
5. I am thankful for knowledge. It is a true blessing to be able to have an education. I know sometimes it is a pain to get all your homework done but it will pay off. What if you didn’t know how to read? I am sure you have a favorite book out there or maybe many. You would never have read that book without the knowledge you have.
6. I am thankful for carpet. This is something you guys probably take for granted at least I used to. I don’t however anymore because we only have one room in our house that has carpet. It is amazing the difference it makes.
7. I am thankful for chocolate. Who isn’t thankful for chocolate? It is like the most delicious thing in the world. (It makes great birthday presents). Chocolate also takes away stress at least for some people. It is a blessing to have chocolate!

ReplyDelete(Sorry this is super long so I'm posting it in two parts! I didn't realize I wrote that much. haha ;) )
1. I'm thankful for a loving Heavenly Father. He's always there for me when I need him. He's so patient, understanding, knowledgeable, and forgiving. How amazing is it that we have the opportunity to talk to the most Holiest of Beings. He is the creator of the universe and the creator of us. I'm thankful that he is there for us and willing and ready to give us answers to our question and help us become better people. Sometimes we take for granted that we can pray and we think nothing of it. If we step back and realized how amazing that is and how lucky we are we can find a lot of things to be grateful for.
2. I'm thankful for the atonement. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can be forgiven of our sins. As much as we would like to say that we don't make mistakes, we aren't perfect- at least not yet. I love the perspective of how repentance is like, " have a fresh view of God." Repentance can help us realize our mistakes and how we can learn from them and become better. It isn't about what you've done wrong, it's how you choose to over come it and change the way your living to become a better person. Everything the Lord asks us to do isn't for him, it's for us. He wants us to be the best person we can be. Through the atonement he can help us.
3. I'm thankful for the, "For the Strength of YOUth." In this little book there are so many principles and guidelines that can help us. It's not here to restrain you but to protect you. It's not only for your benefit but for benefit of those around you. Our families and church leaders want us to have the best life we can. They want us to be happy and succeed in life. This small book contains so much and yet it's very simple and easy to read. I'm thankful that I have church leaders who care enough to encourage us follow the guidelines of this book. To help us live a greater and fuller life.
4. I'm thankful for agency. Agency is such an amazing gift from God. We are given the right to choose and act the way we want. We don't have to do what others want us to do but it's always good to listen to advice. What have you with your agency to better your life or the lives of others around you? With my agency, I've chosen to do many good things and some not so good things. I thankful for being able to learn from my mistakes choose to do better the next time. The choices we make now will make a difference in our future. As president Monson says, "Decisions determine destiny."

ReplyDelete5. I'm thankful for families. Without families we couldn't be here today. I love my family, we are an interesting bunch. Out of six kids I'm the youngest. The "older three" as we call them are all married and have kids. I'm not as close with them because they were mostly out of the house when I was little and they have families of their own. The "younger three" as we say includes my two brothers and I. The older out of the three of us is twenty-two and off at college. Next is my brother that just got off a mission and is heading to college in January. Then there's me. I still have two years before I go anywhere. Anyways, one thing I love about my family is that every night after family scripture study we talk about things that happened that day or what's happening in our life. From my sarcastic dad to my tired mom we end up having an ab work out session from laughing so hard. I love my family even with all its imperfections.
6. I'm thankful for Personal Progress. Personal Progress has helped me learn new things and helped me become a better person. The program has us continually studying in the scriptures and writing our thoughts down in journals. I thankful that as young women we have this program to help us through our teenage years. It helps us stay focused on the important things and gives us the opportunity to learn new things that can benefit us in the future. Personal progress has strengthened my testimony in the gospel and brought me closer to my savior. Completing Personal Progress was one of the most amazing feelings. I'm thankful for the encouraging leaders who helped me accomplish so much.
7. I'm thankful for seminary. I love going to seminary. Although it may not be easy to get up early in morning and sit for an hour while learning more about the gospel and trying to stay awake, it's totally worth it. If you ask anyone that goes to seminary they'll tell you the same thing. Seminary can really bless your life if you let it. This year in seminary I've seen a different perspective on a few things, maybe it's the new and younger teacher or the contents we are studying but it's really helped me more than in years past. I'm taking more out of what I'm learning and some of the personal stories my teacher has told have helped me just as much as the stories in the scriptures. I'm thankful that we have seminary teachers who are willing to spend so much time preparing lessons and teaching us. I know the things we learn in seminary can and will help us in the future.

Week 1
1. I am thankful for BOOKS!!! I love books! They are my friends and my escape from my boring life. In times of trouble I turn to books. I don’t have words to describe what books mean to me. They are always there for me. Even when I am new and alone. They are a way for me to escape and get lost in another world where there may be worst things, where there are bigger problems. Where there are adventures and fun and romance. They are my friends and they got me through some tough times. I will always be thankful for books.
2. I am so grateful for TV shows. Weird I know but true. I love watching TV shows. I watch some with my mom and some with my dad and some with my siblings. My siblings and I recently watched Merlin together. For us it’s a way to spend time together and we love doing it. I watch Cedar Cove with my mom and NCIS with my dad. So yes I am thankful for TV shows!
3. I am grateful for movies. Movies is another thing my family does. We are a big movie watching family. We always watch movies together and sometimes we eat dinner while watching movies. We love it. I especially love watching movies in my family’s theater room. It’s the best.
4. I am thankful for videogames. My brother and I play videogames together all the time. On the WII and on the PlayStation and other devices. It’s what we do! It is such fun. Even if we do get a little competitive. We really like MarioKart and Super Smash Bros, as well as RockBand.
5. I am thankful for technology. With technology I can do so much! I can use it to keep in touch with my friends and family. I can use it to do my school and to learn things. Technology is amazing. I am also so thankful for the internet, which allows me to use this wonderful technology and do so many things.
6. I am thankful for my computer. My computer that has been with me through so much and has survived lots of plane rides and my brother. My computer which may be slow but always come through for me. Which my brother may think belongs half to him as with but it doesn’t. The computer I got to do my schoolwork but allows me to do everything else as well.
7. I am so grateful for music. Music which helps me get cheerful and gives me a reason to dance and sing. I love to sing along with music, as well as dance. I love listening to music. Music helps me express myself and be myself. Music is the best and it’s a big influence in my life.

ReplyDelete1.Clocks, the wonderful device to help me tell time. It’s nice to know that at most all places, I can turn my head and find you. You make my life easier.
2. Anchor, my dog, the small, cute, white fluffy thing you are. You teach me patience when you jump on my table. You calm me down when I get mad. You make me happy when I am sad. I am so very grateful that you are a part of my life.
3. Tuesday, the best day of the week. You fill me full of joy, joy and happiness. I don't know why you are so great, but you are.
4.Grass, the thing that makes our yards beautiful. The thing that is so pleasing to walk on. That green, beautiful, weed.
5.Snickers, the best candy bar ever. Peanuts, Carmel, nugget, and chocolate, ah chocolate. Snickers are the best, and I’m very grateful that I can eat them.
6. Music, the sound that makes me sing and dance. I love music; I love dancing to that beat that just gets me going. Music also can be inspirational and spiritual. I can learn and get ideas from music.
7.Apples, the fruit that I love. That crispy crunch you hear when you take a bite. The sweet and sour taste your tongue loves. Apples, the great fruit.
1. I am so grateful for pianos. Whenever I’m sitting at a piano, I feel like I can completely be myself and express myself however I want to. When I’m playing the piano I can forget everything else and just play. When I’m feeling sad, it’s sad with me, and when I’m feeling peaceful, it mirrors the peace that I feel.
ReplyDelete2. I am grateful for rain. I love sitting on my porch during thunderstorms and watching as the world becomes a totally different place. I think the sound of rain is one of the most peaceful sounds in the world.
3. I am grateful for books. I love the way it feels to have a book in my hands. Books can make you feel like you’re a part of them, and they take you to all sorts of places. Books can teach you a lot of things, and really good books can teach you a lot about yourself.
4.I’m grateful for winter. I love snow and hot chocolate and the smell of pine trees. There are so many traditions and holidays that go along with winter, and so I have a lot of really good memories of winter. And if I never experienced winter, I wouldn’t appreciate warm spring days as much as I do.
5. I’m grateful for the ocean. I don’t get to go to the beach very often, but I really love it when I do. Some of the most beautiful places in the world are by the ocean. This year I got to go to England, and we spent most of the trip down by the Jurassic Coast. I loved waking up to the sound of the waves and seeing the ocean wherever I went.
6. I’m grateful for wind. I love the sound of wind blowing through trees and shaking the leaves. I love it when it’s snowing and the wind tosses the snowflakes around in the air and sings as it slips through the cracks in fences.
7. I’m grateful for my mom. She understands me more than anyone else in the world does, and she’s always willing to help me with my problems. She’s taught me to love learning and music and books. She drives me to cello lessons and cooks my meals and is always there to listen to me.

1: I am infinitely grateful for the Atonement. Joseph Smith said that the fundamental principle of our religion is the Atonement, and anything else is an appendage to it. Without the Atonement there would be no hope, comfort, forgiveness, repentance, purification and sanctification; there would be no point to mortal life. I can’t imagine a world where nothing gives us hope or gives us a purpose to do better and become better. Regardless of what anyone thinks, the Atonement affects his or her life daily, either directly or indirectly. For this reason and this reason alone I will be forever grateful for the Savior’s atonement.
(Everything else I write isn’t going to compare!)
2: I am extremely grateful for by opportunity to experience life in other countries. Living in a first words country can blind you to how easy we have it. As I’ve spent six years of my life in two Central American countries and now living on the border of Mexico for the past two years I’ve been able to experience, first hand, the difficulties the majority of the world faces. This has given me a greater appreciation for the liberty that we so freely enjoy each and every day. I think this experience has given me the fuel to keep my patriotic fire burning within, I’m not sure I’d feel the same way about our great country if I never experienced what it’s like to not have it.
3. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve a mission. I still have a few months until I can actually start my mission papers but hopefully by this time next year I will have a name tag on my chest while I am sharing the gospel with a child of God. When I think about how much the gospel has blessed and influenced my life I don’t know how I couldn’t serve a mission. Every thing I have and all that I am is because of the Lord. In consequence of that, I feel the least I can do is offer two years of my life to help others find the same happiness and joy that I have received from His gospel. I can’t even imagine the happiness that will come as I share this wonderful gospel with whomever I am called to serve. I can’t wait until I get to be on the Lord’s errand 24/7.
4. I am grateful for music. I think we really underestimate the power that it holds. Music gives voice to emotions that can’t speak. It takes us places money can’t. And it reaches deep into the soul. There are many things we feel but can’t express by merely speaking them; music is an extension of our voice. As you pour your soul out into an instrument or through singing it allows you to express emotions that otherwise would be trapped. Music isn’t just amazing as we create or play it but as we listen. Our mood is substantially affected depending on the kind of music we listen to. It can comfort, pump up, calm down, soothe, and invite the spirit and much more. I can’t imagine a world without it. Music is such an intricate and essential way of expressing emotions and feelings, without it life would be a bland washed out beige.
I guess I wrote too much so I have to slit my post in two.

5. Temporal reasons I’m grateful to live in this time. If you look back to the 80’s, heck, even the 00’s, life was drastically different from what it’s like today. Modern technology has progressed and advanced at an insane rate and it is only going to get better. We have so much at the snap of our fingers. We can talk into a rectangle that does exactly what we tell it, well for the most part. Our lawns water themselves, vacuums vacuum by themselves, dishes wash themselves, and we have entertainment in our own homes, and in our pockets. It’s insane! I bet kings and queens from ancient times would give all they had to live as we do for one day. It’s funny, although we have all these convinces that give us more free time we fill it with things that take it away and make it seem as though we have less time. But I’m still extremely grateful for the ease at which we live today. It comes with a catch, though; we’ve got to stay vigilant because with so much time to do other things we can become complacent.
6: Spiritual reasons why I’m grateful to live in this time. It’s no secret that we live in the great and last dispensation where the fullness of the gospel has been restored and the second coming is at the door. I can’t imagine a more amazing time to live than right now. The gospel has been restored in its fullness and the world is being engulfed by it. We are living in a day where we get to witness and live the prophecies made by the prophets of old. I’m grateful because I get to step up and serve the Lord in this great and last scene of our fathers plan. There is a great work to be done by all of us and there is a lot of it. I stand in awe when I think that the Lord has a piece for me to do in his plan. I think that number 5 has a lot to do with this one. I think the Lord has given us the technology to help us help him hasten his work. Yeah, so I am just extremely grateful to be a part of the Lords plan and I hope that you are too. I hope we all step up together to fulfill the work he has for us because it is a big one.
7. I am grateful for the Prophets and Apostles. They really hold our church together. Without the guidance that they give us the church would’ve apostatized soon after it was restored. Because they are the mouthpiece of the Lord we are able to know his will. However, without a testimony of the prophet, and the apostles, divine calling they don’t matter. Without a testimony of their calling they are just men doing their will, not the Lords. I am so grateful that I have a testimony of their divine calling because it keeps me clasping the iron rod. I never have to question their judgment because, first, I know that they do exactly what the Lord instructs them to and, second, I know that the church will never be led astray again, we have been promised that. The savior has said, “…whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.” (D&C 1:38) With that short phrase, we can base our testimony of the Prophets and the Apostles. It helps us to know that what they say is as if the Lord himself had said it.
1. I am thankful for blankets. My room I have no heat and no insulation. So every night I need many blankets to keep me warm.

4. I love cars. They make travel so much easier. Think about walking to and from everywhere on foot.

2.
I am grateful for the beautiful mountains here in Utah. This morning I looked outside and was amazed at the beauty of the mountains especially now that it is fall and the leaves have changed colors.
3.
Today is my little brothers birthday which made me especially grateful for him. Even though my little brother drives me crazy sometimes I still love him and don't know what I would do without him. I love being one of his role models which helps me to try and be better everyday.
4.
I'm extremely grateful for lacrosse. I'm also grateful for the people who forced me into playing when I didn't want to because I love it so much now and it's a major part of my life. Lacrosse also gave me the opportunity of being on a team with some of the best girls I have ever met who are now some of my best friends.
5.
I'm thankful for a strong and healthy body which enables me to do things that bring me joy. I definitely take it for granted to often what a blessing it is to have a healthy body! Without a healthy body I couldn't do the things that make me happy such as hiking, running, or playing lacrosse.

As it's been getting colder I think of those without a home which makes me extremely grateful for mine. I am grateful for my home for many different reasons I'm thankful for the warmth it gives me when it's cold. I'm thankful for its environment where I feel safe and loved. But most of all I'm grateful for those I share it with.
7.
I'm tremendously grateful for my mother. Words cannot describe how much I love my mom and how thankful I am for her. Heavenly Father obviously knew I needed as much help as I could get so he sent me to my extraordinary mother. I look up to her so much and hope that one day I can be even half as good of a mom as she is.

ReplyDelete1. I'm thankful that i was born in a family tho believes in Joseph Smith's importance on this earth. It's a great blessing growing up and knowing the truth form my early ages. As a kid I did not find it important to attend the church every Sunday and learn, but over the years I realized how much I need Christ's love in my life. Back then I always thought my parents were taking away my free agency, not knowing that in the future it would benefit me and help making wise decisions and return to Heavenly Father.
2. I'm grateful for all my friends who are always there for me, accept me for who I am and always ready to comfort me in hard times. I don't know what I would be doing in my free time if i had no friends. I just love them so much!!!! I am a really social person and since I spend tons of time with them they all have an impact on me which is why I need to be careful who I choose to hang out with.
3. Often when I walk on the streets I see homeless people and it makes me wonder whether I take everything I have naturally or thank my Heavenly Father for all I have. I may not have everything I want or need, but i do have a home and a bed where I return every single night, where I'm safe, where it's warm and comfy. I love my bed and I'm really grateful for the house we have.
4. Since my family has been moving all around the world, i have my friends far away form me. In the old days this was a bigger problem with no phones and internet. This generation is really blessed because it takes us two seconds to get in touch with somebody. Phones and internet make my life a lot easier when it comes to moving and leaving my loved ones.
5. Today I'm grateful for the music in my life that lifts my spirit when I'm down. Lds music always makes me feel the spirit, just like in youth conference when we all sing together. I feel closer to God when I listen to the lyrics of EFY songs and I just want to be a better person. Listening to music also makes chores easier and more fun (like they could be any fun...)...
6. I'm grateful for the movies for providing a source of entertainment. It's always fun to get together with family or friends and watch movies. There are so many movies that are fun and valuable at the same time.
7. I am thankful for the challenges in my life. I know that our Father in Heaven never gives us bigger and harder trials than what we can accomplish. I know that he is giving us challenging times so that we can learn how to rely on him and become a better person. He is there with us waiting for us to turn to him.
I really liked number 4. I move around a lot as well and I am so thankful for the internet. I connect with the third one as well. Good job!

1. I am grateful for milk. It isn't essential to life, except for babies, but it is delicious. Truthfully, I probably drink milk more than I drink water.
2. I am grateful for a bed. It isn't until I go on a scouting camp out that I truly realize how lucky we are, in the U.S., to have beds readily available. Not just for a place to sleep, but for a place to relax.
3. I am grateful for indoor plumbing. I think this one is pretty self-explanatory, but is yet again another modern luxury we usually don't think about. I'm just glad I wasn't born in the middle ages where they weren't as clean as us.
4. I am grateful for a testimony of the Gospel. A testimony is a special thing: you can't buy it, you can't steal, you can't give it away. The only way to gain it is to earn it and strive for it is by studying the Gospel. And once you do, you can share it with others to help strengthen, or grow, theirs.
5. I am grateful for books. Books are great: we read them for fun, we study them, and we adapt them into movies. They never run out of battery, they never skip ahead, and they are always the right speed for whoever is reading.
6. I am grateful for windows. Imagine how boring buildings would be if you couldn't see anything from them. We'd just have a bunch of blank walls with nothing on them.
7. I am grateful for music. It can influence us greatly, in good ways or bad. If you are down, music can lift you up. If you are angry, music can calm you down. And if you are bored, music can inspire you.

1: I am grateful for pianos, they are truly something that has changed my life. I have had many times life when I have been touched by the spirit while either playing or listening to others play the piano. I believe that everyone can get closer to the spirit and strengthen their testimony by listening to the piano. As a child I had a piano in the home and I have always enjoyed fiddling around. I know that when I am a parent I will have a piano in my home and will play for my children and try to constantly invite the spirit into my home.
2: Something that I have always enjoyed and been grateful for is socks. The reason why I am grateful for them is because without them my feet would be freezing. At a certain point I figured why not have cool looking socks so I started getting really awesome socks with cool designs. I never have to worry about not having socks because I have so many.
3: I have always been been grateful for hammocks. It may seem weird that I’m grateful for something so simple or seemingly insignificant. However I have spent a lot of time in hammocks and they have been really amazing. My favorite thing to do is to go outside on stormy nights and wrap up in a blanket and listen to the rain fall and the thunder roll and the lighting strike and smell the sweet smell of the wet ground and sometimes I’ll go out from under my porch and just stand in the rain and taste every drop.
4: Something that I am grateful for is my dogs and the joys they bring. I have had so many animals while I’ve grown up and especially a lot dogs. I currently have 5 but at times I’ve had 7 and it is both a great joy and sometimes a little of an annoyance. However I believe that pros always outweigh the cons. Having as many dogs as I have means that I can always have a friend no matter my circumstances I can always go to my dogs and play and have fun with them. It really is a great escape from everyday life.
5: I think that the unsung hero of many of our lives is our fridge. We can really take for granted this wonderful luxury that many parts of the world doesn't have. Imagine our everyday lives without fridges, there would be so many things that we could not enjoy. I really am grateful for fridges and how they make our everyday life so much simpler and easier for all of us.
6: Everyday I open up my laptop and watch my classes that I take at Liahona as well as look at notebowl and submit my assignments for school. Without internet it would be impossible for me to do anything on my laptop and I would be without school, and so many other things that are very important to me and I will always be grateful for WiFi and internet connection. Without them all of our lives would be so drastically different.
7: I am truly grateful to pillows and will forever hold a debt to them. Every night when I lay my head down to rest I put it on a pillow. When I am sick and I have to prop myself up in bed to sit up I use a pillow. When I broke my leg and it needed to propped up I used a pillow. All those times when I would make forts in my room as a child I would use pillows. What I'm saying is that pillows are something that no matter our age, condition, or the situation we will always need pillows.
