Poetry Month: Week 4 THE FINAL WEEK

A message from your teacher:

I want to thank all of you for the wonderful ways in which you have allowed me to guide you to learn, think, and write. I have been delighted to be your teacher. I have learned much from you. I have thought new things because of all you have offered in our classroom community.

This experience has brought joy to my heart, and I couldn't imagine it being any better than it has been. My appreciation fills my soul. I wish every good thing for you as you continue on your life journey.

*DES who are just beginning, we are in Week Four, so make sure you stop by Week One for instructions and to make your first poetry post if you haven't already.

Remember the instructions! If you've forgotten, go back to Week One and read them again.

  1. When I go walking at night/
    I always see the stranger./
    I stopped walking at night/
for fear of the following stranger./
Finally it's time to go to sleep./
but I turn and see the figure./
He's making me go into a wake less sleep./
And now I'm a motion less figure.

    5. I was reading like, "Oh huh that's nice, nighttime walks" and then BOOM! "GAH HE'S DEAD WHAT THE FREAK HAWKEN WHY YOU DO THIS?" JK but it's really good! It's super simple with the repeating words but you used them in a different way each time! It's so good.

  2. The sky wanted to send me a surprise/
So he made the air around me moist/
I was camping outside when came the surprise/
    I didn't enjoy a camp that was moist moist/
The day doesn't seem very joyful/
Muddy footprints for me to trip inside/
I'm trying so hard to be joyful/
I think I will just go inside.

How do I make you smile?

What do I do to make you smile?
For your smile is one of the best.
Though sometimes you may lack in rest,
You always go the extra mile,
But with that comes many a trial.
You are always being put to the test,
But with that I know that you’ll be blessed.
How, I ask, do I make you smile?

    Everyone needs a friend,
So your friend I will be.
When you smile it always brings
An abundance of joy in every bend.
It opens your eyes so you may see,
For smiling is the greatest of things

  6. I had my "Kicks" poem that I am very proud of from today but I turned them all in so here's this:

    "Happiness"
Where will you find happiness today? On bicycle rides
    On picnic outings
    On monkey bars
    On playground slides

Where will you find happiness today? Dancing wildly in a concert crowd
Drinking hot cocoa curled up on a couch
Daydreaming lazily on warm dewy grass
Dancing, singing, and jumping in puddles of rainclouds
Where will you find happiness today? While jamming to your music all alone While gazing up at glinting stars
While cradling a little babe cooing them to sleep
While doing all these things your light will be shown

How will you make happiness today? By cracking a joke to your best friend By serving others who need your strength
By inviting the spirit into your home By making other smile, you make HIM smile

You can't have milk or candy.

    You can't even run.

    The tissues should be handy.

If I could pick the spot I land
The wondrous dream land I know,
    My perfect, special, happy dreamland,
The life reality doesn't want me to know.

Unfortunate, I must face my bed,
Unsure of nightmare or joyful dream.

    Rumors running far and wide,
Truths and lie, nowhere to hide,
Wishing I could be the wall
    Feeling scared, I’m feeling small,
    Any little phrase can chide,
Pain is what I feel inside,
    Filling with the bitterest gall,

A friend, kind, true, and caring,
Asks of me: “What is wrong?”
I sadly smile and answer back:
“I’m feeling low, my heart is tearing,
Don’t feel like I quite belong.”

For we don't know if we helped them out
When we love, someone loves back
Cause next time they might bail us out.

I think this really shows the fact that it takes efforts on both sides to have a relationship. No matter what kind of relationship, love has to be manifested by each individual. A deal we made when I was young,
    My parents said no kisses,
Till I was an 188 year old young misses.
How easy it was to be among,

And to the few that doubted,

    Four random words poem

    Book
    Clock
    Basket
    Lovely

At the end of the story, I threw down the book.
Overflowing- yet it’s placed in my basket.
I sat there staring at the wall- my mind still immersed in the book.
I glance over and decide... I need another basket.

Tick tock tick- It continues even when you ignore the clock.
The new adventure, land, and friends seem so lovely.

  32. These are my 4 favorite poems from poetry month

    1. (BO poetry)

A terrible war will come when people suffer,
but it will be God who will raise us up.

    2.

In a world full of greed
there are thieves in the night
    that give quite a fright
and take things they don't need.
In a world of bad deeds
    they conceal the light
    and hide from sight
    and usually they succeed.

    But when we join together
    and hold hands
    the thieves are contained.
    Through any weather
    that sweeps the lands
    we'll no longer suffer pain.

    3.

    Good friends are special
    good friends are true
    you help them,
    and they help you.

    When they are around
    but lost from view,
    call out to them,
    and you'll see them soon.

    4.

    Once upon a time,
    in a faraway place,
    uh... I forgot my lines,
    now tomato-red is my face.

  33. Just a poem. I made up. Heh. Hope you like it :) P.S See everyone next year!

The light can bring beautiful darkness,
The struggle can bring wonderful blessings,
The fight can bring terrifying endings,
But at least we're happy, more or less.

  34. I'm happy like the sun that shines in the sky,
I'm free like a bird when it spreads its wings to fly,
I'm crazy like the ocean waves that crash into the rocks,
I'm fuzzy and warm like a pair of colored socks,
I play the piano the keys black and white,
I hug my mom and dad every single night,
I love shop at the mall,
I love pasta macaroni noodles and all.

  35. Puddle are reflections,
and show you what you seek.
Yet they also could be windows,
    for other worlds you'll meet.

You both look at a puddle,
    and think you see yourself,
    when truly it's your replica,
    both in perfect health.

    The surface that prevents you
    from joining with your twin,
is not the floor beneath you,
    but what you hold within.

If such a thing were possible,
    all like would slowly fade.
For we would not be special
if we knew another was made.

  36. Hope is bright
It can outshine the dark corners
    Hope is light
It can be the candle in dark paths
    Hope is radiant
It is the thing we hold onto in despair
    Hope is brilliant
It makes sorrow easy to bear

  37. this is my Italian sonnet:

For you something i will make,
    and on top something pink.
    made with some food ink,
and that something is a cupcake.

I have put it in the oven to bake,
    it will definitely not stink,
you'll let me know with a little wink,
if you eat to many you'll get a stomach ache.

    But after that hurt,
    you'll say it was yummy,
it was a good cupcake you smelt.

    You'll want more for dessert,
but another ache you'll get in your tummy,
and once in your mouth the frosting will melt.

  38. Different face every day/
this is how I like to play/
You never know who I am/
    Underestimate me people often can/

    Today I woke up to a fright/
Only to see in the mirror/
    everything is suddenly clearer/
The face I have on is mine/

I go and try to apply my mask/
    with all my attempts/
    only followed failures/
    my powers destroyed/
    I shrink in terror/

    A week later I haven't left my house/
    scared to be known/
of how my true self shows/
lately my only friend is the mouse/

I now hear a knock on my door/
    I quietly sneak closer/
To peak and see the visitor/

    How has he found me/
    my long lost friend/
    I open the door/
    to jump in his arms/
    but he says/
    I've been waiting/
    for the return/
    of my true friend.

  39. fahrenheit 451 poem

    Unlit window
    Hard to see
    Face burned by the fireflies
    Window hidden
    Safe strange new stars

Sleep while eyes were wide open
    Mouth half a smile
    Stepped from the river
    He fell back.

  40. I catch a glimpse of a picture that feels quite right
An idea triggered by something in sight
I race for a writing utensil of any kind
To sketch the image before it vanishes from my mind

The image flows onto the canvas quite naturally
I don't really know how it happens, actually
After hours of working like a storm
The image in my mind finally takes form
I step back from the canvas finally at peace
Knowing that now the image from my mind will never cease

I then return to my day
Waiting for my mind to again whisk me away
For another image will surely come to me
And I will have no choice but to draw what I see
