Slice of Life: DAY 21
Sister Jackson's Slice:
The mom hat, teacher hat, even the sister hat—any hat can overload us if we don't take a little break from time to time. Sometimes I think about these things as I run around like crazy. I think about this thing as I wrap up a weekend of helping my BFF get her daughter married off and settled into her happily ever after and all the life that lies in between. I think about how I wish I had more me.
I wanted so very much to spend time with my cousins. I wanted to go to lunch. I wanted to go to dinner. I wanted to tie ribbons around every napkin at every place setting. I wanted to go for a walk and a hike and go to the movies. I wanted to take time to see other friends. I wanted to help clean up. I wanted to say so much.
We can get so overloaded if we don't watch ourselves. I will be glad in the knowledge that I seized the day for fourth meal (even though it was actually only my third)/second breakfast (even though we didn't even eat breakfast)/elevensies (even though it was like 1:00 a.m. my time). Instead of wishing I could do more, I will be glad I focused all my effort to polish and help to make perfect my BFF-once-removed's special day. I am glad I couldn't spread myself so thin that I might have ended up regretting not giving my all to one special moment in time. I am glad I served and loved and communicated. I am glad I set aside all the hats I wear and was just me.

I was having the worst day a few day ago and I told my wonderful friend about it, and she said "alright I'm getting us ice cream and I am coming to your house and we are going to laugh." She did come over that day and I hadn't folded my cloths on my bed or cleaned up my room yet so I was a little embarrassed but she just volunteered to help fold cloths and talk. We laughed so much, and talk through my problems. She is a true friend!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I would do if I didn't have friends that cared so much about me! In proverbs 18:24 it says " A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." Friends can be more like family to you than your real family can be sometimes. Love your friends!

DeleteI love friends like that. Sometimes, when you're having a bad day, it's good to laugh. It really shows you who your true friends are, when they are willing to drop anything and come to your aid. I think a good friend is someone you can laugh with and have fun but also someone you can trust, that will be there for you in times of need! :)
Jayden, I agree with you full heartedly. Friends are the family we find along the way and we mustn't take them for granted. I have so many friends in general and am so blessed to have really close friends!
DeleteWow that is awesome! I love having friends to cheer you up on a bad day. :)
DeleteThat's what friends are for! Bad days are no match for ice cream and a close friend. :)

ReplyDeleteI guess I claim first post on the blog today! ;) It's funny how it's become such a big deal being the first one to post. There's something about being the first person to do something. . . You set the precedence, the mood. Honestly, I'm really greatful to be on Spring Break to take a breather. Here in Texas, I still have seminary and dance because of the schedules being different but no school. I'm excited to have time to relax and do a few things that I enjoy doing. I hope you all have a fantastic Spring Break, we all deserve it! :)

DeleteWell, I guess Jaedyn beat me. . . Haha,
that's alright! ;)

DeleteYeah, we still got the message. :)
It's important that we take time to just relax. We need to step back, and think about the way our life is going. Otherwise, if we are building upon a shaky foundation, sooner or later, it will come crashing down because of the weight from anxiety, depression, fear, or anger. We need to rejuvenate ourselves by remembering who we are, and by knowing where it is we want to go. Break's are simply that, ways to brake/stop our own life, and to just contemplate what is going on around us.
It snowed today. I am not happy about it, haha. I am very much ready for some warmth and sunshine but I guess I will have to practice patience. In the mean time I am gong to work on my Summer Bucket List.
ReplyDelete- See New Movies at the Drive In (Captain America and X Men are two great examples.)
- Visit the Louisa May Alcott House in Concord
- Have a Trampoline Camp Out with my friends
- Write, Write, and Write!
- Meet New People
- Girls Camp (I'm YCL over the 4th years! I'm so excited!)
- Youth Conference (This year we heading down to Palmyra for the pageant and church history sights.)
- Go to the Beach, in Rhode Island, with huge waves
- Visit as many new ice cream places as possible
- Try Something New
- Spend a day at a water park or amusement park
- Visit the Boston Museums
- Get a Job
- Go Ice Skating (Yes, in the Summer!)
- Go to a Baseball game
- READ
- Whale Watching
- See Martha's Vineyard (I've never been!)
- Play Hide and Go Seek in Ikea
Isn't trying new icecrem stores the same as trying something new? XD. Your year sounds great. You live in the city, right? That year I have scout camp, high adventure, and another scout camp that I plan on going too. The problem is scout camp costs around $700, and high adventure will most likely be around $200. I really need a job. XD
DeleteThat sounds like an amazing summer!!! Wow. I love exploring at Ikea.
DeleteYour slice sparked so many ideas for me! There's a drive-in less than an hour from my house, and everyone goes there at least once over the summer. I've never been, even though I've lived here for almost 9 years!
DeleteMy younger sister gave me a great idea for a huge group date, that we all go to the temple, then go play hide and seek in Ikea and get frozen yogurt. It sounds like such a fun idea!
Ah, Ikea. Many a memory has been created whilst walking/running through the many isles trying to see where my mother decided to roam and wander now. We'd spend sun up to sun down just looking for some piece of wood that my mother instinctively knew she had to buy, without knowing she already had it at home. With many options comes as much time to spread out those options, and see which of those is the best. Or, with Ikea, prepare to walk in their only intentionally to grab a couple nails, and come out with an entire selection of house decorations.
DeleteKenzie that sound sooo fun! I am so ready for summer! I think I will steal some things from your bucket list. ;)
DeleteMy summer bucketlist is 3 pages long! I love yours though.
DeleteWhen you plan on going on a trip: don't pack early. Packing means leaving so when you are completely packed you want to jump on the nearest plane and time moves slower than a snail.
ReplyDeleteBut don't pack too late. If I do, I end up stress packing and cramming absolutely everything into my tiny red carry-on.
Well... Just find a time in between??
Oh I totally get what you're talking about! You have to find some time in between. I think one or two days before is the best time.
DeleteI almost always end up packing the day before we leave. That way I go to sleep knowing that when I wake up, it's go time! And then I have time to think over if I missed anything or if I am taking too much. But that's just me. :)
DeleteSo, interestinbly enough I'm not that excited for spring break. The weather hasn't permitted us to do farming, and now I will have no school. Summer/spring hasn't started here yet. I'm going to do a lot of reading. I will be doing extra work though. I need to earn money, explained above as a reply to McKenzie.
ReplyDeleteYou know what? I'm not super excited for Spring Break either. I already miss school. All of my friends live so far away so I usually only see them at school. Also, call me weird but I miss all the classes. History, Science... Especially English. I can't wait to have school back!
DeleteI enjoy spring break only for the fact that I don't have homework. that is it. I love school. I get to be with friends all day. Having spring break while I am at Liahona is especially bad because none of my neighborhood friends have spring break for a couple weeks. Oh well.

ReplyDeleteI folded clothes to put in my suitcase, vaguely aware of the audiobook that was droning in the back. Soon I realized with a start that I had stopped folding clothes and was leaning against my bed, dozing off. I shook my head, walked over to my phone, and turned back the audiobook to where I could remember. This is why I always end up going to bed so late. I zone out and end up falling asleep! I quickly finished packing, and began my bedtime routine.
I find myself dozing off while listening to audiobooks. It's terrible!
DeleteThis is why I read books. Listening is good too though.
DeleteHaha yeah I just read. I find it harder to pay attention when I am listening to an Audiobook.
DeleteIt’s officially the first day of Spring Break and my entire family used it to our advantage and slept past the times that our alarm clocks would usually go off at. Well, all of us except for my dad. He still had to wake up at the break of dawn to go do something that allows him to provide for us. I truly admire my dad and how he sacrifices so much so that we can have such a blessed life. He wakes up very early and makes his long drive to his job every morning. Then when he gets home, no matter how horrible of a day he might have had, he puts a big bright smile on his face, gives my mom a kiss, and listens to all of us as we tell him how our days went as we eat dinner. Then he helps us all with homework before we go to bed and takes some time to spend with my mom before they head off to bed and he goes through the cycle all over again.
ReplyDeleteIn Seminary we were studying in Psalms. And, in all honesty, I've never really read the part of the Bible. I also, learned the importance and the value of music. Psalms is so different from any section of scripture. It's also a great place to go when you feel sad, down or lonely!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. I love the Psalms! They're some of the most beautiful scripture.
DeleteThe first time in my life I took voice lessons. At first I didn't want to because my teacher only taught classical music not pop. But I decided to give it a try me and my brother both took it together it was very different then I thought it would be. She taught us how to breath and how to use our vocals. After all this time I was doing it wrong at first I didn't really feel like singing anymore because it was just so hard for me. But I decided to stay in it a bit longer to see if I would improve at all, and I did! I became better at my breathing, and how to hit my notes, I don't necessarily say that I'm a good singer. I'm okay, I enjoy listening to other people sing though more than my own singing. But now I'm learning how to sing songs that suit my voice instead of those that go really high in pitch. Singing is something I really enjoy especially when you get to do it with your friends. I don't really enjoy singing in public though. But if you have a passion for singing by all means do it I bet you all are great singers!
ReplyDeleteSaturday night we went to a Pianos Guy concert. They were AMAZING! We even got them to come back onstage for an encore which was pretty cool. They are so funny and kept making jokes throughout the concert. It was over to soon but I’m really glad I got to go!

That sounds fabulous! The Piano Guys are the best.
DeleteI am so jealous. I love the Piano Guys.
DeleteHas anyone else watched the Great British Baking Show/Great British Bake Off (the former is produced by PBS, the latter by BBC)?! My sister, mother, and I are completely mad about it. It's oddly charming. We've been pursuing YouTube trying to find any episodes we can, because Netflix/Amazon Prime only has one season, which we have watched through about ten times.
ReplyDeleteThat is what we are doing with spring break. Watching this lovely little show!
-Ainsley McFarland, Period 4, DE
That sounds so fun! I'm definitely going to look into that because I love baking shows! My little sister was at home, sick, all of spring break, so she binge watched the entire Avatar: The Last Airbender show. She watched all three seasons in four days.

ReplyDeleteI GOT TO BE IN A TEMPLE CULTURAL CELEBRATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please read even though it is long:)
I know that Sister Jackson said that we have to give only a slice, but I feel that you should get the whole pie today.
Saturday, March 19th, 2016 is a day to be remembered for me. Let me go back a little bit. About four months ago, I got the news that I would have the opportunity to be part of the Provo City Center Temple Cultural Celebration (PCCTCC). I was very excited. I didn't know a whole lot about what a Cultural Celebration was. I had heard a little bit about the Payson Temple Celebration and thought that it was kind of cool.
The only downside about having the celebration (though it's a worthy sacrifice) is that I had to put off all other youth thingies (mutual, scouts etc.) so that we could practice for the celebration. Four, maybe five hours a week, for three months of dance practice. But the practices were fun. I always looked forward to them. First we started practices combined with another ward. Then we started doing stake practices. Our stake got a couple of practices in the Marriott Center (where the celebration was held). We got one regional practice (all the stakes in the celebration).
Then March 19th, the day of the celebration came out of nowhere. Here's how the day went for me. 6AM: wake up & do scripture study. 6:30AM: shower and get ready. 7AM: eat breakfast and collect belongings. 7:45AM: Leave house and meet ward. 8:30AM: arrive at Marriott Center. Rest of the day: get to practice for about an hour, sit around and do nothing for about eight hours. 7PM comes: time for the PCCTCC to start. We performed. Everything went well.
It was a really great experience and I am sad that it is over. After the event, I realized that it was the end. No more. I wish I could do it again. If ever you have the opportunity to be a part of a temple cultural celebration, don't hesitate to do it. It is a once in a life-time opportunity.
(Sorry for the long post. Hope you enjoyed it!)
Here's a link on youtube for the dance I was in:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1h6NPMglZaI
That is so cool that you had that opportunity! I would LOVE to do something like that! Yeah, it's always hard when things like that end. You end up going through with-drawls. I'm glad you had fun! And I'm totally gonna watch this!
DeleteFEAR
ReplyDeleteEveryone is afraid of something. whether it be lightening, the dark, flying etc. I’m afraid of a few of things and I’m going to share them with you. I would ask you to please not use these to your advantage and tease me.
Fear number one: Heights. I realized this fear a few years ago when I went up to Bryce Canyon with my family. When I am above solid ground with insufficient safety precautions, (AKA jumping super high into the air on a trampoline,) I feel anxiety hit me like a ton of bricks. My stomach flips and my whole body is just telling me “NO!”
Fear number two: SPIDERS. Oh my gosh what is it about spiders that send my body into freakout mode? They have six hairy legs, tons of little beady eyes, and they’re poisonous.
Fear number three: (This is probably my worst fear,) Making other people feel hurt. Whether it’s physically or emotionally, if I hurt someone, I injure myself in the process. After fighting with someone, it’s so hard to live with myself until I know that the other person is okay and has heard my apology. I think the part that I’m most afraid of, is if they don’t except my apology and decide that they don’t want to be my friend. THAT is the scary part. I DO overthink this one a bit though...
I have a fear of heights. I can't look down large flights of stairs without my stomach churning. The only place where I'm not afriad of heights is in the cherry tree in my backyard, and that is because I've been climbing that tree my entire life, and I feel I know every inch of it. It is one of my close friends.
DeleteSaaaammmmeee sista. Except for heights. I am a little scared but not to bad. But i totally relate with the other ones. I have a horrible phobia of spiders. I'm seriously so freaked out by them. Even more than most girls. I'll scream like a little girl and freak out. Sometimes I'm brave and I kill it... But other times i just run away. One time my sister and I stayed up till 3:00 am trying to find/kill a spider in her room. We made videos and everything. It was great. Nice slice!
DeleteHaha, that sounds like something I might do Trevor. XD Thanks gentlemen for your comments. :p
DeleteOh my goodness, Elise, fear number three. I can share this fear so much with you. You worded it to perfection.
DeleteSpencer Evans (TX)
DeleteI'm not too scared of spiders because they are everywhere here in Texas, so I'm used to them. I do feel bad when I've hurt someone's feelings. Then the whole heights thing; I'm scared of heights above about 20 feet, and even more scared of falling from them. I don't think I would ever be able to skydive for that reason.
Number 3 I can also relate too! Whenever I have hurt someone too I feel terrible and I start to feel this bad hurtful feeling inside because of what I've done. It was a great Slice Elise!
DeleteTomorrow we are going to Normandy. So if I can't post clear until Thursday, I hope you understand.
ReplyDeleteToday we went to Disneyland, and when I was down to my last few euros I remembered something. I haven't once bought anything for myself since I'd been here. It's all been gifts for my girlfriend and a keychain for Miss Kim (she requested one).
Michael, I like gifts of all sorts. Any sort, really. So just remember that. :)
DeleteOh will you get me something (: JK I hope you had fun
DeleteWe took a little trip for spring break to McCall! It’s a little town in Idaho about 3 hours from where I live. It has cute little shops and there’s a frozen lake with beautiful sunsets and pretty forests. We got a log cabin to stay in while were here. It’s really cool! I even have my own porch off my room! So my stay has consisted of playing my uke, reading, watching movies, ice skating, drinking hot cocoa, talking to friends, hot tubing, going on walks, and just relaxing. Were about to go to a pizza place soon, and then were leaving tomorrow, sadly. Although our trip has been short… I had a great time here! I do miss home too. It’s always good to go back to home sweet home.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you've had a blast! It's too bad that your vacation is coming to a close, but yes, it's always good to come back home :)
Delete~dirt bikes~
ReplyDeleteI'm going riding with my dad and Henry today. I'm thinking about taking my GoPro and putting it on my helmet. I hope we go to a track/field called the Brick Plant. It has a HUGE field that is probably 4-5 acres of fun. Then it has a little track thing that has jumps and stuff! It is so much fun.
Sounds fun and exciting, what a fun way to spend your Spring Break.
DeleteCaleb A, DE, P4
ReplyDeleteA good friend of mine recommended that I re-watch Uchtdorf's talk titled "It Works Wonderfully" from this past conference. I watch conference whenever there is a session, but why else are we encouraged to read the Prophets words again if not to learn something we had not come to the knowledge of before? From his talk, I got this quote:
". . .the gospel doesn’t need to be complicated. . .it is beautifully simple, and it works beautifully."
I remember a few years ago, I spoke at a Testimony Meeting for a Youth Conference. The concluding statement I said was, speaking in terms of the Gospel, "It's easy, we just have to do it." I have thought upon that sentence many times because I know it didn't come from my own mind. However, after much contemplation, I have learned for myself that what I said is indeed true. The Gospel has been made so easy for us that even if we follow a simple prompting, we will be rewarded beyond our own capability of containing it. God is literally standing before us, and praying for us that we will follow him. He is like the parent that earnestly watches his child's first steps, and is always there when we lack the strength to keep moving forward. God doesn't expect us to leap when we first begin to walk, but he does hope that we will fervently and patiently take one baby step at a time towards Him.

DeleteThank you for this reminder, Caleb; it's so important to have the words of the prophets and thoughts about the Gospel every day. Our loving Heavenly Father gives us all that we need, and the agency to do it. Wow.

ReplyDeleteI feel like I have good and bad driving days, sometimes it's me and sometimes it's the other idiots on the road. Today was not a good day for driving. Three drivers who were not paying attention almost ran into me this morning on my way home from seminary. I like driving and all, but it causes me way to much anxiety just going from home to my church.
That's scary! And I totally get you. I can't drive yet but even as the passenger it's annoying. I can drive a lot of other things though. And sometimes I drive our cars on our property. I'm excited to drive but also not excited for that part.
DeleteMy mom sometimes gets angry and says, "DUDE". She doesn't know why she says dude, it just comes out.

ReplyDeleteSo, today I went shopping. My Ama and Bumpa spoiled Klaesara, KyAnne, and I. Us three cousins were privileged to go on a shopping spree. We were there for practically all day today and we accumulated many clothing items. It was so fun to try on unique and interesting pieces of clothing and be able to be gifted with them. I offered up many prayers of gratitude to my Father in Heaven, knowing I was so blessed to be able to do such a thing and be able to eat a wonderful lunch and share this experience with my grandparents, cousins, and my momma. I am so blessed and shouldn't take these blessings for granted. I hope to keep a heart full of gratitude at all times.
Wow you sound so much more thankful than I! My slice sounds so temporal compared to yours! Great way of capturing the important aspects of the day. :)
DeleteP.S
It's "We three cousins" not "Us three cousins."
Sorry I had to! ;)
WOW! That's awesome! Although I'm a guy I like getting new clothes and shoes. I really like shoes. You could ask Elise and she could tell you all about it. ;) That's really good to be so grateful and to realize that!
DeleteThat is so awesome that you were able to do that! Haha... Yeah Trevor LOVES shoes. He really likes talking about them... a lot... XD
Delete~BIRFDAY SHOPPING~
ReplyDeleteI hate shopping. I always have a bad attitude. It seems like I never find anything I like, or if I do like it, it doesn’t come in my size. And I’m far too practical with money. I hate spending money. If I really like something, but I don’t think it’s worth it’s price, then I won’t buy it. Basically I wasn’t looking forward to going shopping with my Bumpa and my cousins as an early birthday present. But today was different. I still didn’t want to spend a lot, even though Bumpa was paying, and he was willing to buy me anything I wanted. So I started on with the cheaper stuff, and I ruled out anything I didn’t love. First we looked for prom dresses. Caleigh looked fabulous in her fantastic sequin gown. I soon found an old fashioned, 40’s looking dress, and I kinda really almost completely loved it. Then we went get some shoes to match. I have to admit I was being really annoying during this bit, but some of the shoes at Nordstrom were really weird! I mean, rainbow heels and metal studs sticking out of shoes? No thanks. But we found some that I liked. H&M had really cute shirts, and I kind of love everything at Downeast, I wanted to buy the whole store. But the best part of the shopping trip was being with my mom and auntie, Bumpa, Ama, and bestest cousin, Caleigh. Clothings are fun. I am also really thankful for my awesome Bumpa who satisfied my crazy clothing wants with his moneys. :)
My first day of spring break was heavenly. I slept in late. When I finally rolled my groggy body out of bed it was about 9:00 am. I staggered downstairs to eat my breakfast. The scrambled eggs my mom had cooked were so delicious that I quickly scarfed them down. Ah what a beautiful morning! I think it’s time for a nap.

ReplyDeleteCold, brisk
it's a chilly morning.
I see my breath

Sounds of the birds echo around me
I feel clean and free

I close my eyes and thank Heavenly Father for the morning.

ReplyDeleteSome mornings require toast with butter and jelly. It pops out of the toaster, browned to perfection and hot, then a fast flash of silver knife smears quickly melting golden butter over the top. Next comes the blackberry gorgeousness, and one simply must spread this beautiful jelly in such a way as to swirl the hot butter and cold jelly together, a gold and purple crown to top off breakfast. Finally, the delicious square approaches a watering mouth, and the first crunch tells me that it tastes even better than my sense of smell promised it would.
yuuuuuuuuuummmmmmm Most of the people in my family just eat there toast with butter but, I like jam.

Oh! Guess what? My Siamese cat had kittens. They are simply three little blobs of fluff that eat and sleep. Because my cat spends some time in the house she had her kittens in here. The problem is unlike most cats she doesn’t like to be alone to have her kittens and she woke me up to be with her. Oh well though, they are adorable.

ReplyDeleteSo, my little brother, Nat, summed up what I was planning on slicing about today. The cultural celebration was absolutely amazing. It's always great when your hard work pays off in a gloriously, overly satisfying way. Nat even gave you the link to our dance! But since some of you have probably missed it, I'm going to post it again because it's awesome!!!

But seriously, this is one of the highlights of my life. Ever since I was little I've wanted to be in a cultural celebration. But living in Utah, I never thought I would get the chance. But then I got that chance in my last year in Young Womens. I will always treasure this experience. Thank you Heavenly Father for giving me this opportunity.

ReplyDeleteMonday's are, at times, fun but also, more often, not so fun. This morning was really fun! My aunt stayed over for just one night and we went to Provo with her. We got crispy cream donuts, did a little shopping for my sisters wedding, and got lunch at Costa Vida for my cousins birthday! After that amazingness, we had to help my sister get a flat tire and that was really dirty. After we had the tire fixed we were putting the new tire on the car and my little brother spilled a whole cup full of horchata (Mexican rice milk drink) all over my aunts new car. So we went and had it detailed which took a super long time. Between all of that there were a few less traumatic events but through all of the stress and anger of everyone being freaked out, Monday turned out okay. Plus, watching the tonight show starring Jimmy Fallon always helps so that what I'm doing right now! Random, I know, but it's true.
Haha, Costa Vida is amazing, and Horchata is heavenly! :p I hope you guys got that all cleaned off and that it didn't stain or ruin anything!
DeleteToday my mom my little sister Anjolee and I went on a hike to battle Creek falls and then had a picknick under the water fall. After the hike we went to Lows and got stuff for our rooms then we got shakes at Arctic Circle. When we all got home I only had 8 minutes to get ready for dance, when I was ready and in the car driving to the studio my mom couldn't figure out where it was. We went to a dance studio that said what kind of dance they do but it didn't say irish dance. Then we wemt to an exercising place that wasn't it then back to the dance studio which ended up being the right dance studio. Yes, I have had a very long day.

Being the oldest in young womans means learning when and when not to bridle your tongue. When should I contribute with ideas? When should I answer the questions? When should I share my knowledge? When should I let them figure it out on their own? This is not always a simple task. I am continually having an inner debate with myself. Back and forth. I have decided that I talk too much, and need to listen in order to know if I am needed. This is what being an adult feels like.

They came and got me from Provo and took me to a few Seagull Books, (something we don't have in Texas), Menchies, (something we don't have in Amarillo), and the Church Cannery- which was closed. After that, we went to their house and had an awesome dinner, then went to see my moms oldest brother. We hung out at their house and just talked about life for about an hour. Then we went back to my grandparents house, got ready for bed..... annnnnd watched all the Bourne movies. I chose that watching them seemed more important than being mentally present tomorrow...
On our last day o girls camp, we made bracelets, had a water activity, and had a award ceremony. Our ward won 3 trophies, and then we won the overall trophy! so 4! It was super awesome! We went in tubes on a pond and had lots of fun. I really am going to miss camp, but I will be there next time!

Iv stayed up till 3 in the morning at my grandma's house. but that's not what I'm talking about today I'm talking about my life but today I was talking to my mom about how my favorite time of year is spring because I'm feeling like I want to talk about how I feel about it because, spring is so cold but warm it has rain sun hall snow cloudy sun burning every aspect of the weather at least in Idaho.
ReplyDeleteToday I noticed my love for vintage things. Something about writing with pen and paper, holding a physical photo, physical money, I even held a flashlight. Yes, a flashlight. I hardly use the one on my iPhone anyway. I’m not sure what else to write here, but that was the most defined part of my day today as far as “thoughts” go.
ReplyDeleteI love vintage things too!- 1st period DE
DeleteVintage things are really cool
DeleteI wonder what the world fifty years from now is going to be like. I hope it is nothing similar to Fahrenheit 451. If I was Montag I would have tried to do the same things he was doing. It's sad that Bradbury was scared enough of the future so he wrote this book as almost a warning.
ReplyDeleteHhhhhmmmm interesting to think about

ReplyDeleteI recently went to an army band concert. I went with my dad, my brothers and my grandparents. Both my grandpa and my dad were in the army band when they were younger. It was really cool going and listening to the songs they played. It was so awesome.
"OK, I'll just finish this chapter then go make some lunch." I tell myself. Then the story gets intense, and one of my favorite characters almost dies! "No no no no" I mutter aloud. I must keep reading! Otherwise, the character might die! I won't be able to eat my lunch in peace if they're dying! THEY DID WHAT?!?! Oh, OK, false alarm. LOOK BEHIND YOU! IT'S A TRICK! Oh, wait, never mind. My brain is just busy working out all the scenarios. OH, that's what was happening? Man, a fall from that height should have at least broken a few bones. OK, that's unrealistic. You're reaching a little far, even for a fantasy book. Now, how did the author think that was cute? OK, I'm taking a break after this page, but I just want one little peak... nope. Next page. Next page. It's been two hours later. OK, Time for lunch!
ReplyDeleteMe, every time I read a book...
So today I'm auditioning with a piano piece to play in the Idaho State choir concert. I'm really really nervous. I almost have all the other songs that I'm singing at the concert memorized.-1st period DE
ReplyDeleteSpiders are literally the creepiest things ever.
ReplyDeleteThey are super hairy, and have way too many eyes and they are literally everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Supposedly when you are outside you are never more then 6 feet away from a spider. At least that gives me one more reason why I should never leave my bed.

“Lights. Camera. Action!” Yeah, I’ve never said that before while filming, but I have directed. I used to love filming when I was in elementary school. It was mainly star wars based. I would gather all my friends together, get them costumes, and direct them with their roles in the film. I have no idea where all the videos when but I wish I could watch them and see the work I did. It has been nearly eight years since I made these movies and it would be really fun to see the evolution of my work.
I want to tell you so much about my last family vacatoin that was sooooo exciting so on December 10th we left out house with so much stuff that we could barley fit in out car. We drove to boise Idaho then stayed the night in a hotel then we got up early and flew to somehwere in California then we got in a plane and flew 5.4 hours to (drumroll plese).................. HAWAII. we stayed the night there in a really nice hotel then on the 12th of December we drove to (one more drumroll please)....... THE CRUISE SHIP! is was huge and when I saw the room we had I was like woah this is awesome! That night wasn't so awesome........ so my sister and I were sharing a bed and well there was a pool on the cruise ship so my dad had told me how all the food in our stomach sloshed around like the pool (the pool sloshed a lot because the boat was moving and well my sisters stomach couldn't quite keep the food down so BLEHHHHH all over the bed I was awoken by my parents telling me to get off the bed so the puke didnt get on me. And get this the cruise ship had it's own barf crew the crew for just cleaning barf. crazy so they came in cleaned it up and flipped the mattress over. I will tell you more of my Hawaii adventures next time since this one was so long.
ReplyDeleteA few days ago my climbing team competed in our Regional Championships. It's the first big competition of the year, and we trained really hard for it. We had three girls (including me) make top ten and move on to Divisionals next month. Sadly none of the boys on the team made top ten, but they got really close and their age groups are really competitive. I'm pretty happy with how I did. I wish I could have made it a little farther on some of my climbs, but that's just something to work on before Divisionals.
