"Peyton, get out of bed we have to leave in a minute" I raised my head up just as the blinding light pentrated my groggy eyelids. I look at the clock, it's 5:43; I must've forgot to set my alarm last night. Seminary starts at 6:00 and my mom's the teacher so we have to be early. My dad is standing in my doorway waiting for me to get up. I throw the covers back and immediatly wish I couId pull them close and stay enclosed in their warmth. I slowly start moving towards getting ready; I know I should move faster but the cold seems to zap all my energy.
ReplyDeleteSince it was really warm wednesday and thursday I opt for my basketball shorts; as soon as I open the front door to go outside I know that was a mistake, but there's no time to change so I deal with The cold.
Coming out of seminary I noticed little flurries and realized it was snowing. My basketball shorts did little to conceil me from the cold; On Monday I'm gonna wear sweats, even if it's warm. In Georgia you never know if it's gonna be in the 20s or 70s; I wish the weather wasn't quite so bipolar.
hmmm in my home it was freezing

DeleteI live in Utah. In March in the morning, my dad asked why I didn't have a coat on. I replied that it wasn't that cold, and he said that it was. I did have a jacket on though, so I thought I was good. A few hours later, I was way too hot with my jacket on. Just shows how weird spring is!
*grin* I have had those days. You pull on shorts/capris, head out and freeze in the car waiting for your brother to come out so that you can turn the car heating on full-blast. Then of course, the air blasting out of the vents is as cold as the air outside. :)
DeleteBut seminary is worth it. I love the spirit, friendliness and learning opportunities so much.
Utah weather is crazy. You never know what is going to happen. The weather-man never really gets it right.
DeleteI always like to imagine that no matter how harsh the weather is that it is always a blessing in disguise; especially in Utah. Utah depends on snowy winters; the leftover water from the snow helps keep the forest fire levels down when the heat starts kicking up, granted that having a heavier winter means we have a higher risk of our flood pipes bursting and needing repair, but I'd take a little trouble over people possibly dying in a wild fire and the woods getting burned to a crisp. Great now look what you've done, I'm starting to talk about how I appreciate the cold!
DeleteHere in Washington it's usually sunny in the mornings and between 45 and 60 degrees Farenheight.
DeleteJocelyn, I thought this was about the terrible weather in Utah. Although, I do love all the creations of God, sometimes it is just a test to see how patient we can be. Some winters I have learned to love the cold. Other times it is just plain bad. Well, I do agree with something. Utah is bipolar!
DeleteYeah, I live in UT, and you can almost NEVER predict the weather. Sometimes I like it... but it gets on nerves A LOT.
DeleteI feel ya. I think a lot of states have bipolar weather.
DeleteWeather itself is bipolar!! No matter where you live.
DeleteMcKenzie A DE Period 3 Boston
DeleteNew England is known for their bipolar weather - for good reason! One second it's snowing the next sunny, the next raining and then hailing and then sunny! It's craziness!
The weather always seems to change so quickly! One days its sunny and 75 and the next day its 20 and snowing! It makes leaving my bed a very hard task!
DeleteHere in Texas it is either too hot to go outside and survive, or it is pouring down rain and the street you live on becomes a kiddy pool.

ReplyDeleteOnce upon a evening cheery, while I labored, almost weary,
over sink of dirty dishes to be put in dishwasher,
while I filled, the dishes clacking, here came little sister walking,
her little feet, pit-pit-patting, pit-pit-patting on the floor.
''Tis some dishes' I was thinking 'here to help me with my chore
only this, and nothing more.'
How distinctly I remember this, the night of growing anger
And the tearfall of the younger, lay in puddles on the floor
Oh how I do wish to go back, Now the future seems to go black
With much, much more than just a crack--the dish shatters on the floor
now we mourn for beauteous dish, all strewn across the floor
Now it will hold food no more.
-The Dish (derived from a part of "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe)
Brilliant, Erin. I love it! Awesome parody
DeleteI, too, have the job of dishes in mine home. Breaking a dish is so much scarier than you'd think. There's that awful realization that you dropped it, then the earsplitting CRASH, then silence, then everyone going, "What happened?!" And possibly criticism after that.
Have you seen the Studio C Parody of the Raven?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQ6QuvFS068
it's hilarious. :D
Erin B. P3 DE
DeleteThat's what made me think of this Emma. I started composing this in my head last night. A dish breaking is just like that in my house.
Erin B. P3 DE
DeleteSorry, Emma, the reply I made was super vague. The Studio C is what made me think of this. What made the dish-breaking worse is that it was one of my mothers favorite dishes, and the only one of its type.
Period 3
DeleteYea, sometimes once it breaks, it sounds like your grounded for a month. Of course, my parents don't ground me for a month. They only look at me and sigh. " It's ok, I forgive you." How desperate I feel when I brake something so perious to my family. I need only to apologize and be a little more careful next time.Time doesn't change, but it sure helps you learn from your mistakes.
-This is a bitter sweet sounding tale of, correct me if I'm wrong, a broken dish that is never to be used again. I mean, sure you can get another version of that dish, but you will NEVER get that exact dish again, and it that truth comes sadness.
Delete"And inasmuch as they are faithful, behold I will bless, and multiply blessings upon them." Christine reads from the D&C.
ReplyDelete"Alright, y'all, can you think of blessings that the Lord has multiplied on you?" Sister Monagan, my seminary teacher, asks. We shrug, look at each other.
"Sure."
"Yeah."
"Mhmm."
Varied answers float from around the room.
"Could you list a hundred of your blessings?" She presses.
"How much time do we have?" Someone wonders jokingly.
"Get out your journals," She replies, laughing.
We all dig out pens and the Seminary Journals given to us at the beginning of the year.
Sister Monagan then hands us each a sheet of paper. Each reads:
Let’s not just talk about counting our blessings—let’s do it! Write a list of 100 things you are thankful for. If that sounds like it is too many, try this:
1. Write 10 physical abilities you are grateful for.
2. Write 10 material possessions you are grateful for.
3. Write 10 living people you are grateful for.
4. Write 10 deceased people you are grateful for.
5. Write 10 things about nature you are grateful for.
6. Write 10 things about today you are grateful for.
7. Write 10 places on earth you are grateful for.
8. Write 10 modern inventions you are grateful for.
9. Write 10 foods you are grateful for.
10. Write 10 things about the gospel you are grateful for.
When we make a list like this, we discover that a list of 100 doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of all the things God has given us.
I stared at this, then began to scribble. Each '10 (things)...you're grateful for.' was relatively easy to fill. A half-a-page was filled in two minutes. Then I reached 6. There, I frowned. I had been awake for a half-an-hour. How on earth was I supposed to be thankful for ten things already?
Then I felt the warmth on my arms from the coat I wore, and the weight of my hair, held back by a clip. I smiled.
I'm thankful today for:
1. a coat
2. hair clips
I looked down, tracing my pen lightly over my jeans. My smile grew wry.
3. jeans
The taste of minty toothpaste was still faint in my mouth.
4. toothpaste
5. toothbrush
My eyes scanned the room
6. The scripture bag my grammy sewed me
7. friends
8. comfy RS chairs
I blinked. What else was I thankful for? Well, I was thankful to be here, but I was going to put seminary under 7. Hmmm. I was thankful to be here ... I was thankful for a car that brought me here so that I didn't have to walk through the icy pre-dawn.
9. car
10. Heating in cars and church buildings
I smiled. I had been awake for half an hour, but I could list at least 10 things I was thankful for already. Wow! That was cool. The Lord really did multiply blessings; half the time I just didn't take the time to put them down.
I would like to encourage y'all to do this. It is incredible to think of all the things that the Lord has given you, and to realize how much you really are thankful for. turn the '10 (things) .... you're grateful for.' into 20, and you'll have 200 things. turn each to 30, 300 and so on. It's not that hard, and it makes you suddenly grasp how blessed you are.
I know that the Lord loves me. He has surrounded me with more blessings than I even know at times. I know that He loves all y'all too, and I want to close this slice in thanks and in the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen.
Erin B. P3 DE
DeleteThank you Emma! I'm really going to try this today! It will probably put a whole new spin on life.
When I was young I would visit my cousin in the summer. They always had a hornet infestation that would come back soon after they dealt with it. On one occasion as we were playing outside, I was stung. This wasn't uncommon, but we reached breaking point. We formed a plot to attack the hornets with our weapon of choice, water guns. Our older siblings proposed that we ought to add chemicals to add to their seemingly minute lethality. Borrowing my sisters many hairsprays and mixing them all, we came up with our improved ammunition, “Chemical X.” Armed with much "Chemical X" and water balloons, we carefully approached the hive. We proceeded in a constant rain of our dangerous mixture. And upon finding a select few of them in our pursuit we decided to quickly retreat to a much safer location. After a couple of minutes we slowly opened the garage door in anticipation if they had followed us to our fortification. We were soon to discover that our mission had been a success, finding the majority of our foe slain.

DeleteFor two months I have had three older siblings all out on a mission at the same time! How often does that happen I wonder. It is really cool! Serving were my two older brothers and my older sister. It is really exciting! One of them was in Washington, one is in Ohio, and the other one is in the Philippines! The Philippines! When people ask me if I miss them I say no. That sounds a little mean. But I have to say that for lack of better words. I think my sister described it well, so I am going to quote her, " I don't really miss them. I like to say that I'm so proud, excited, and happy for them that it cancels out the missing part." There.
ReplyDeleteLast week, my older brother got home from Washington! It was so EXCITING! It is good to have him home. He hasn't really changed in appearance, but he has changed spiritually. When he got home, We pretty much jumped him into Studio C immediately because he only got to see the first season. He loves it. I love him so much. I am so proud of him for serving a mission. Though I don't have three siblings out at the same time now, I still have two.

ReplyDeleteMy Slice of Life
There is a park really close to my house that my family goes to a lot. One day, when I was 5 or 6, I was riding my bike without a helmet around the park. I was closing in on the tennis net. When I got an arm's length away, I reached out, grabbed the pole on one side of it, and swung around successfully. I proceeded to cruise along the length of the net, with one hand on the top of the net and the other on the handlebar. When I got to the end of the net, I stopped sliding my hand along it, swung around, and hit the pole strait on, and went flying off my bike head-first. I hit the ground, cracked my head open, bit right through my lip, and scraped my knees and elbows really bad. I was immediately rushed to the Emergency Room, and got 16 stitches in my lip and 12 in my head. That day I learned:
1. Always wear a helmet.
2. Don't do crazy things on 2 wheeled vehicles. Or any vehicles, for that matter... :)
3. Turn slower, and just in general, go slower in crowded parks.
I don't think I will be doing anything like that anytime soon.

I've been through what you've been through
Why do we need to sleep?
Why do we dream when we sleep?
Why is it so hard to fall asleep, even when we are tired?
I AM tired!
I'm tired of being tired!
I am tired of daydreaming, I want to wake up, but the lies I tell my self in these premeditated visions I see, well, they just keep attacking me!
They attack, but do I Fight back?
No!
I see now, the truth which I tried to hid behind these wonderful lies, these snake eyes, and the truth of knowing makes me feel pain inside.
This pain so harsh that not even I can deny why this happens and the truth makes me cry.
I want to make a change but where do I start? Some say start with yourself, but I say start with your heart!
Let God's light lead the way and you will never have to ask yourself, "Have I gone astray?"
And these feelings you feel inside, well they have no power, so let them shrivel and die.
For the only power the voices, that tell you the lies, like your fat, stupid or everyone wishes you'd just die, is the power you give them when you stop to listen.
It's true what they say, your worst enemy is you, but look up to the sky for God has forgiven you!
God's forgiven you for hating yourself, now the only thing you have to do is forgive yourself too.
The last thing I have to say is I wish the best of luck to you and good fortune through and through.
Now go out and be born anew, knowing now that we all LOVE YOU.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Authors Note: This was a short little rap I made for, YOU, going through depression or having suicidal thoughts. You don't have to mention who you are because you know who you are. I know first hand that when you are suicidal or depressed you can be really good at hiding the pain you feel through smiling or daydreaming and that only makes you more depressed or suicidal because you fall back in your school work, even when you really want that A and you really want to learn, and because you fall back in school work you are always busy trying to catch up and because you are busy, you fall out of touch with your friends and you start to question whether or not you're good enough for anyone.
I want you to stop!
I want you to forget your failing grade, what the people you love think of you, what's going to happen in the future, and what paths have been presented around you.
I want you to stop in the middle of the fork in the road and have yourself a picnic, without worry of direction.
I want you to think for one minute that you've got no where to be, no grand plan, no mistakes, no future choices to make. Then I want you to go outside under the sky and look straight up at the sky and watch the clouds or count the stars then look across the land, try to find the best view, watch the trees or wheat sway or observe the people and or cars pass by.
Then say to yourself in your own way. "God knew what kind of person I'd be when he created me, just as he know's the person I'm going to be, Because he made me to Be.
The first step to acceptance is accepting that you, in your mind, set people, places, and things around you against you, So knock it off!
If you don't, I will hunt you down and tickle you so much that even when I stop tickling you, you will be unable to stop laughing from even the mere sound or look of the letter T.
Did I make myself clear?
The answer is "Yes, Jocelyn!
No smart aleck remarks, OK?
I can't have all the credit for what I have written because God blessed me with a thought that he prepared within my mind a long time ago from when I was facing depression and suicide and I doubt that if God had not allowed me to feel the pain I knowingly inflicted upon myself during that time I would have never learned and I would have never found/came unto God.

It is true, when you listen to the lies that you are fat, stupid, or everyone just wishes you'd just die, your worst enemy is yourself. When that happens, the person you need to forgive isn't the people those voices are talking about, it is YOU.

DeleteGod does care. He cares so much.
I've struggled with letting me care about myself, I suppose. I've let those lies bombard me until I feel smaller and more insignificant than a centimeter. But remember that God is always there, that He is always willing to listen and to comfort. Like you said, Anonymous, He sends friends and people who understand. Because He cares. I can't say that enough. HE CARES. About YOU. Yes, YOU. Never let Satan's horrible lies into your heart. They're lies. Like someone once said, "... If you can't see anything beautiful about yourself, get a better mirror. Look a little closer. Stare a little longer because there’s something inside you ..."
I know that everyone has something that is beautiful about them, and everyone needs to know this. I hope that if you're reading this and you've struggled like so many of us have, you'll listen to us. Please. Please. Let other people in. It won't make them hate you. It won't make them think any less of you. Turn to someone who you care for and who cares for you. Turn to God, turn to your parents, turn to your bishop, your church leaders, your friends ... Please. Please. I know that letting it out can help. Holding it in never did.
It brings tears to my eyes to see all the love happening on this page! I LOVE YOU GUYS! *(Sobs of joy!)

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite movies is the older version of Karate Kid. In the movie, Mr. Miyagi teaches Daniel lots of different important things to help him learn karate. The thing that stood out to me most was when Mr. Miyagi told Daniel that he needed to have balance in karate, but also to have balance in life. This has helped me in my life because every time I don't have a balance in life, my self-esteem is lowered by a lot and I start to not care about anything. When I try to have balance in my life I feel much happier and feel energized to conquer anything. To achieve a healthy balance we need to make sure to gain excitement for school and make sure we always try our hardest to get our homework done on time. We need to make sure that we have healthy relationships and spend a healthy amount of time with friends and family. We need to make sure to set aside a little time each day to relax and do what you like to do most. But most important of all is that we gain a good relationship with Heavenly Father by reading our scriptures and saying our prayers.
I totally agree Brady!
DeleteLove that movie! And very good advice.
DeleteI am a violinist. I am a member of the Idaho Falls Youth Symphony and I take private lessons from an absolutely amazing concertmaster. It has been really hard lately and sometimes I just want to scream. I have been praying that somehow I would find the motivation to keep going. Yesterday was an answer to my prayers. I had an amazing violin lesson because I was able to be open and honest about my feelings to my teacher. Then at symphony practice a couple of hours later, we had an AWESOME rehearsal. We are honing in on the details of the music because we have a concert in a month. Basically yesterday was a testimony builder of the power of prayer. When we are in the hardest, darkest of times, we always have Someone to turn to. I am so grateful for that blessing.

ReplyDeleteBrother Degraff has encouraged us to start learning about the men, and woman running for president.
ReplyDeleteI looked at many of the possible candidates and the one that has caught my eye and really kind of tugged at my heart is
the one and only, brilliant Dr. Ben Carson.
He is positively amazing. Today I watched one of his videos called "Teen Interviews Dr. Ben Carson "Do you have a
brain?" During the interview he talks about how when he was a child his family struggled financially. His mother would take
him and his brother to the grocery store, they would often ask their mother if they could have bubble gum or a candy bar,
and the answer every time was, "Im sorry boys we just simply do not have the money for these things." The two boys
could see the pain in her eyes so they learned to stop. He talks about how his mother only had a 3ed grade knowledge
basis, and how she wanted her boys to be smart, so often times she would turn the TV off and tell Ben and his brother to
go and read. He said that his brother and him were not to fond of this but later on learned the reasoning behind it.
He talked about how in school he thought of himself as stupid and others thought so as well, he was always the but of the
joke. In about a year and a half, he went from the bottom of the class, to the top of the class. He started to appreciate the
books, and knowledge and school. Later on in the interview he talks about how being in poverty really made him want to
help others in the same situation. He said how he doesn't want to just give the poor free things because that later creates a
problem with the poor relying on others. Its kind of like the analogy "give a man a fish you feed him for a night, teach a
man how to fish he feast for a lifetime." I am going to be able to vote in 2016 and as it looks right now. I am leaning more
towards Ben Carson. Yes there might be somethings that I don't agree with, and you might disagree with me, but I really
like the things that he stands for.

ReplyDeleteThis morning (in seminary) we read section 106 and 107 in the Doctrine and Covenants. Those are some really great sections but this morning no one could focus. I feel bad for my seminary teacher; he was trying to teach a great lesson and no one could pay attention longer than a few minutes! Haha, it was pretty bad. I guess we were all just excited because it's spring break next week; which means no seminary and no school (except for me). It was cool to hear all the places everyone was going! Even though we didn't pay much attention in class it was good to talk to everyone because everything has been cancelled the last couple of days; Texas doesn't know how to handle the snow. ;)
Tomorrow my grandma is coming to stay with us, and she'll be staying in my room (which I share with my sister), so we had to tidy it up. This proved difficult for me because I was much more interested in rereading Fablehaven book 3 for the fifth time, and my sister wanted nothing to do with the project and kept fleeing the room, though still maintains that she did all the work.
ReplyDeleteI had just finished grating cheese for supper and picking up Legos off the living room floor when it hit me.

DeleteI am the 3rd oldest of eleven children, and as you may imagine it gets pretty loud at my house every day (and by the way the 5 youngest are all girls, with 1 boy). But this weekend things are different! All the girls, and the youngest boy, left for the night and will not be back till tomorrow evening! So it's just me, two of my brothers, and my dad, and it is seriously hard to concentrate without noise! I will probably fail college tests, because they will be so quiet.

I ski to the bottom to meet up with the others. I get to the bottom safely but as it turns out my companion wasn't so fortunate, she got to the bottom with a broken arm.

ReplyDeleteTrees are beautiful. Until they cause a huge gash in your head that, then afterward is in need of staples. This happened to my older brother Stephen. Stephen was a fearless young man at the approximate age of 13. In the strict terms of literal F-E-A-R-L-E-S-S-N-E-S-S. Now Stephen had a younger brother that was named Joseph. Joseph, to be frank, was not fearless. In fact you could say he was paranoid. Nonetheless he was a GREAT young boy.
During this quite young evening. Young Stephen was playing with his awesome brother, Joseph. They were sitting by a huge tree that had a rope swing attached (if the young ex-pioneer students would recall, this is the same tree that young Joseph broke his face by). As Stephen was swinging, the swing would, on occasion, snag on a corer of a 1' by 3' wooden board that was near 10 feet up the tree.
A few minutes later the rope snagged, for the last time, the edge of the board.
The board came crashing down (with no wind resistance) and landed its corner right on young Stephen's head. The rest of the story would be found at the beginning.
The last and final moral that we should all learn from this is
we all should be terrified that life, at any moment, will come crashing down and that we should never leave the safety of our own homes. Na JK JK, the true lesson of this story is . . . is . . . . that we should never swing on rope swings? You know what? You find a moral.
The moral of the story could be... fix a problem before it turns into something worse.
DeleteI love Drama/acting! It has helped me so much in my life. It has helped be more out going and to not be afraid to be out going. It has helped get out of my comfort zone and not be afraid to try new things. By being an actor or actress you get a unique opportunity to try different personalities and put yourself in other people's shoes, but at the same time you can be yourself and put yourself into all these different people and personalities. I will tell you that some of the funnest characters to be are the mean and bratty ones. Not that those qualities are a good things, but it is interesting putting yourself into their lives and experiencing what might be going through their minds. Anyone and everyone can act! You just need to find how you can make it work and you have to care about it. Drama is amazing!!!!
ReplyDeleteReally awesome what you said, I don't take drama but I have always loved how like you said you can become some one else and put your self in there place. Keep up the great work!

ReplyDelete“Life is so short we some times forget to look around and take in a breath before we shut down.”
ReplyDeleteThis is how I feel some times with life. I know I have done things but at the end of the day I feel like they have not been enough, so I started an achievements journal that I write in every day.
As I have done this achievements journal for only a short time I have started to see the difference it has had in my life, because suddenly I see the things I have done in one day and looking back I realize I have accomplished a lot and even sometimes more than I realize.
We can be a very powerful force for good, sometimes though we just need to take a step back if we feel we are not doing enough and realize the accomplishments we have made.
In that moment we can use the strength of what we have done to help us move towards our future goals.

ReplyDeleteToday I wanted cookies, so I made chocolate chip cookies. I had a recipe that called for margarine, but we didn’t have any in the pantry so I asked my mom if I could use butter instead, and she wasn’t paying much attention but said yes. So I made my cookies like normal, except I used butter instead of margarine. I put the cookies in the oven then went to my room to catch up on a couple of assignments. Eventually the timer went off so I went back to the kitchen to get the cookies out of the oven. When I opened the oven, I saw a pile of tan goop on a cookie sheet. I took the cookie sheet out of the oven and sat it down on the stove, wondering what to do. I decided to make cookie bars. I put the goop into a square brownie pan and added in the next batch of cookies that were ready to go into the oven. I put the pan in the oven for another 10 minutes. When I came to get the “cookie” back out, I let it cool then took a bite of my disaster. It was horrible. It was somehow undercooked and dry at the same time.
I think my sister enjoyed them though because she ate half the pan.
So today I honestly thought was gon a be really fun! But it kinda sucked by hey, got to hang out with friends so it's all good. :D

ReplyDeleteToday I went to visit with my best friend. We've grown up together and although she is quite a bit younger than me, we are very close and very similar. But not the exact same!! One of our favorite things to do together is drawing. She is the artist and very exceptional, I don't draw well- I'm a baker not a painter. But we still like to draw together. We'll draw a basic face shape and put a line through the middle, she gets on side I get the other. And our drawing begins. She is realistic, elegant; using shading and just blue and grey to create a masterpiece- A Snow Queen. I draw my best, anime style; so many bright colors a silly attempt at a Cyborg. I giggle when she catches me watching her glide her pencil over the paper creating such beauty. And then it is finished. We comment on each other’s hard work and creativity. Nothing negative is said, only ooh's and ahh's at each other’s creativity. Each of us knows who is the painter and who is the baker and our differences are clear. But we love each other and there is nothing different about that.

We should do all that we can to follow Him.

ReplyDeleteFriday a family came over. They are good friends of ours here in Utah. They brought over pizza and soda, we provided the house and a couch and the movie. It was a movie night! They have little kids so we ate in the kitchen quickly before heading to the couch. At the couch they got comfortable and we started the movie. It was Big Hero 6. A really cute movie. While they started it I snuck upstairs. I had seen it before and just a couple of days earlier. Upstairs I had made popcorn and then bought it downstairs. The kids were so happy. I sat down again to watch it. It hadn't taken me long and were in the middle of the beginning and middle (if that makes sense). I got up to make a bit more popcorn once. It was funny because the youngest kept scooping out popcorn and eating some before giving the rest to my dog, Zoey. She was a lucky girl that night. She went around eating crumbs and from leftover popcorn kids left in the individual containers I gave them. She stuck her snout in to get very last crumb. I hoped she wasn't going to get sick and she didn't. She once ate an entire thing of brownies and she took those from the trash bag that was in the kitchen. Go figure. That night was really fun and I enjoyed so much.
My number one weakness is self-consciousness. I always wonder what people think about me. One day I finally got sick and tired of being scared of other people's thought's. 1. It's none of my business. 2. I shouldn't care. God created me, no US how he wanted. He loves us no matter what we look like or do. I know that with all of my heart.
ReplyDeleteSo true! I think that a lot of girls have the same problem and they need to look at it in your perspective!
DeleteSACRIFICES!!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever made a hard sacrifices when you didn't expect it ??
Sacrifices are hard to make, but my question is what drives us to make hard sacrifices?
Humans have a lot of determination, motivation, drives, tenacity but sometimes it's hard to put all those together and make a sacrifies when a sacrifies is needed, sometimes our wants we make it stronger than our priorities sounds interesting.
So I want to throw a question out there what kind of sacrifies are you willing to make ? Examples not watching tv shows and reading your scriptures, making family time more important than our own pleasure etc . There are a lot of sacrifies we can make and some we can't , well in other for us to be like Christ we have make even harder sacrifices to get the level he is because he had to make even a harder scrifices leaving all his worth and ascending to the earth to the lowest point possible to die and relief us from our own inequities !

The road was long and empty. the evening sun seemed heavy and thick. A light wind brushed against my slowly burning skin every now and then to momentarily relieve me of the sticky sunlight. My feet slapped one after another down against the hot, burning asphalt. The road was faded grey, and its smoldering surface was dotted with bumps and holes. There were tall green trees along the side of the road that begged me to come stand under their cool, dark shade, but alas! A wooden picket fence stood between us, warning me not to cross into others' property. So I continued my dreadful march through the hot sun. The road seemed to stretch on forever. Maybe that prison wasn't that bad after all. My heart sank as I realized that in this weather, this was impossible; And with my heart, I sank to the hot surface of the endless road. I inched my way over to the dry, prickly grass. I lied down and gave up hope. They would've found me sooner or later anyway.

ReplyDeleteSo, currently, I am reading the "Sword of Shannara" Trilogy. During Spring Break, I was able to read 600 of the 714 pages in it. I always get sad when I am finishing up a book that I have been reading. It is like I have to break away from a life that I have already grown too accustomed to. It was the same with the Eragon series. When I finished Inheritence, I felt as if my life would never be the same, and it hasn't. I have also had the privilege of reading the Lord of the Ring series, but that at least has a suitable movie series that follows the guidelines set by the book. I have also read the entire Harry Potter series. I still remember coming home from school and reading far into the night. My mom would have to drag me out of my bed just to eat dinner with the family. I have also read the 'Three Musketeers.' Because of that book I have learned a quote from within its pages. It reads: "Be easy on that head, you know I'm cool enough." You learn so much when you read. You gain a sense of knowledge and creativity. But most important, you gain a sense of love and appreciation for others life-long works.

I kind of feel bad that I'm eating crappy food sense I'm in soccer and we are supposed to be healthy. But it's really hard to eat healthy! Junk just tastes so good! DeleteImagine what the world would be like if we never invented electricity. There would be no cars powered by electricity, no houses with electricity, no big airliners, no space shuttles., no satellites, no cell phones. Think who invented electricity, or who we think invented electricity. Ben Franklin is the one that we think invented electricity, but electricity is a form of nature and could not be invented. Technology would not be possible. New York City would not exist the way that it does today.

DeleteYesterday was an amazing day. One of my hobbies is cosplaying. Cosplaying is dressing up as your favorite character from a movie, video game, manga, anime, tv show, etc. Well the last time I cosplayed was at the Salt Lake City FanX 2015 as one of my favorite anime characters. One other cosplayer cosplaying as another character from that anime told me that my cosplay I made was absolutely amazing. Yesterday I got a text from this said cosplayer saying that she needed me for an expert Q&A Cosplay panel for an upcoming anime convention. She said that my cosplay was good enough to even be professional and she wanted me to come with her for this panel. This is a huge opportunity for me to be recognized as a good cosplayer in the ever expanding cosplay community.

Her mind started to wonder of as it has many times before, bringing back the pain of the fight the night before. Memories of tears, screaming, and heartbreak started flooding into her, all of a sudden there was a bell signaling the class was dismissed. Quickly she collected her things and left the school, seeing that was the last class of her day. As she was exiting the building she softly sighed noticing how the sky was crying. She felt as if she knew how the sky was feeling, as she walked by a concrete bench she realized a boquet of flowers lying on it. She knew why they were there the moment she saw them.
“I’m sorry…” he said.
The End.
